Actually Communism and Fascism were never really very popular in the U.S. so this is not surprising.
The bad news is the hard core Dems are about 30% of the public so his strongly approves are not likely to decrease. The good news is that only about 28% of the public identifies as Republic-Conservative so the other 8% must be coming from the 40% who are neither Dems nor Republican-Conservative so 25% of swing voters realize Obama is really Welcome-Back-Carter or Obummer.
