On that site, I saw another interesting article..., and it said —

Michael Scheuer, an al-Qaida analyst whose 2005-2006 writings on al-Qaida strategy I found to be insightful, has come under fire for comments he made last night on the Glen Beck Show. Here’s one quote from the below interview:

“The only chance we have, as a country right now, is for Usama bin Ladin to deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States.” (Michael Scheuer on Glen Beck)

Agreed!

That is the only “chance” that this country has of succeeding against the evil, oppressive and dictatorial governmental system, called “Islam”....

It’s unfortunate but true...

Special Dispatch - No. 2438
July 9, 2009 No. 2438

“New Al-Qaeda Book Betrays Panic Over Predator Strikes, Covert Operations”

SNIPPET: “On June 29, 2009, jihadist websites posted a new 150-page book by senior Al-Qaeda commander Abu Yahya Al-Libi titled Guide to the Laws Regarding Muslim Spies. The book’s two introductions, one by Ayman Al-Zawahiri and one by Abu Yahya himself, make it clear that it was written in an attempt to find a means of dealing with the recent campaign of Predator strikes and other covert operations against Al-Qaeda and Taliban targets in Waziristan. The two Al-Qaeda commanders, and Abu Yahya in particular, betray deep distress at the devastating effectiveness of the shadow war against Al-Qaeda, as well as paranoia regarding the ubiquity of hidden enemies.”

“A Note About America’s New CT Strategy”
(Added August 7, 2009)

SNIPPET: “Consider this. In al-Zawahiri’s new video (Fact/Hypocrisy), he identifies another list of “non-AQ” dudes who AQ likes and looks to for guidance. They include:

Shaykh Hassan Al-Banna
Shaykh Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam
Professor Abdel Qader ‘Uda
Shaykh Ahmed Shakir
Mahmud Shakir
Shaykh Muhammad Hamid Al-Fiqhi
Shaykh Muhammad Khalil Harras
Shaykh Adel Razzaq Afifi
Shaykh Muhammad Al-Awdan
Professor Sayyid Qutb
Shaykh Salah Abu Ismail
Shaykh Abdullah Azzam
Shaykh Ahmed Yassin
Dr. Al-Rantissi
Shaykh Hammud Al-’Uqla
Commander Shamil Basayev
President Aslam Maskhadov
President Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev
Shaykh Abu Omar Al-Sayf
Shaykh Nidham Al-Din Shamzai
Shaykh Mawlawi Abdullah Ghazi
Abdul Rashid Ghazi
Shaykh Muhammad Yunus Khalis
Shaykh Omar Abdul Rahman
Shaykh Abu Al-Mundhir Al-Sa’idi
Shaykh Abu Qatada Al-Falastini
Shaykh Abu Al-Walid Al-Falastini
Shaykh Nasir Ibn Muhammad Al-Fahd
Shaykh Abdullah Dhakiri
Jalal Al-Din Haqqani
Shaykh Fadhli Muhammad
Shaykh Muhammad Yasir
Shaykh Hussein Omar Ibn Mahfud
Shaykh Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi
Shaykh Abu Abdullah Al-Muhajir
Shaykh Yusuf Abu Hilala
Shaykh Hamid Al-Ali
Shaykh Abu Basir Al-Suri
I’m sure Abu Musab al-Suri will be devastated not to have made the list (weird that he didn’t b/c they were chums) but this should show you that AQ reaches far and wide. Remember, this list ought to be added to the previous lists that I’ve published from al-Zawahiri. It becomes clear that this is more than a group, or a network of groups or even a network of networks -

We’re dealing with an ideology that has a long and complex history, a wide wingspan and entrenched doctrinal roots.

If we’re not going to call it the “global jihadist movement” or “global jihadism” then I would ask Mr. Brennan to offer some thoughts on how we can “acceptably” discuss the body of thought that underlies groups like al-Qaida. We need to be able to describe the the ideas, doctrine, personalities, writings, interviews, imagery, operations, processes and more that, when taken together, comprise this ‘ideology.’ It transcends al-Qaida.”

The Site is Down-
November 14th, 2009

Had to pull the site down and deal with some tech issues – seems as if I struck a nerve with my adversaries. I’m reconceptualizing the site, upping security and will be back online soon.

Thanks for your patience -
