Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is warning fellow Democrats that even though they now have a filibuster-proof majority to not expect any dramatic changes.

From the Politico

Oh, the burdens of a Democratic supermajority.

After eight months in limbo, Al Franken is poised to be sworn in as the 60th Democratic senator — cause for celebration among party activists, the lefty blogosphere and his fellow Democrats planning to give him a hero’s welcome at Tuesday’s caucus lunch.

But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) isn’t feeling especially giddy — and he’s trying to bridge the gap between his herd-the-cats daily reality and rising expectations that he’s just been appointed overlord of a filibuster-proof Democratic kingdom.

“What’s really changed for us?” asked a leadership aide, hours after former Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) capitulated to Franken.

The fact that Al Franken is a sitting U.S. Senator should make Americans very, very angry. That POS has no business in the Senate.

I would at least wait until after we see him at today's lunch before making that claim... Hopefully this is as far as the pendulum will swing to the left.

Harry was always a limp-wristed weasel, and the far-left knows that he can be easily rolled.

Translation: Senator Reid is panicking because he doesn’t have the Republicans to blame when things don’t go super lefty way.

There are 58 democrats in the senate.

That's all, just 58.

Two Independents caucus with the dems.

It's just not as ‘in the bag’ for a filibuster proof majority as the MSM makes it seem.

Yes, anything they pass can be done without Republican help; the blame will ALL lie with them. Easier to vote them out next time around.

Thanks AlF, you cheating vote-swindler you. I think it can work for the good.
