“legal and political document of all time”

It is not a legal document; it has no force of law. At best it is “political” in the sense that it is something akin to political commentary.

We need to remember that the CONSTITUTION is (supposed to be) the force of law, and that ultimately it is what defines this nation.

Congress instituted a new government, limited in power to securing our Natural Rights and by the consent of the governed. The evidence of its force of law is the Constitution.

It is a legal document in that it names the right of the victim, and brings to light the indictment of the guilty.

Make no mistake this was not only a statement of rights, as well as , grievances, this constituted the legal basis for the Colonists to rebel against an oppressive government
