Chants of “Ahmadi bye bye!” “liar” and “death to the dictator” can be heard, as well as MOUSAVI.

There are reports of 2000 people arrested by the government. Brutal beating of students at Tehran University by the Basiji.

This is not a power struggle amoung the Mullahs. It is not simply going to go away.

There is no doubt that all understand that the election was stolen. If it is true that Ahmadinejad came in 3rd in the election, as leaked election results showed. This is just beginning.

Well, hope they go to it and finish this whole thing off I say. I hope they in the end through the scum out and start purging their society of te filth. Then they can go back to being “Persia” and that’ll be one more free country.

Who are we to find fault with a culturally superior Third World leader?

Do you see any parallels?

This kind of rebellion is understandable when facing a dictatorial unresponsive government.

Do we have that in DC?

I smell fear.

Of course it will go away, they will get sick of getting beat up. They have no guns to fight back. Mousavi is just another Islamist anyway.

Mousavi says he only wants to rattle the country’s Islamic rulers, not take them down. In messages posted on his Web site in recent days, he groped for some common ground in a nation increasingly polarized.

Mousavi then called the feared Revolutionary Guard and their volunteer militia corps, the Basij, “our brothers” and “protectors of our revolution and regime.”

That’s why those clowns in Zero’s administration stood by the former president of Honduras. He was trying to unconstituionally change the government and the court and legislature ordered the army to stop him, including sending him into exile. Sounds pretty democratic to me.

Have you noticed a pattern as to which side Zero stands on - usually the wrong side.

Third hand, I’ve heard that over 1000 people have been killed in this, from an Iranian fellow who’s no fool.

You’re right, it’s not over by a long shot. I believe there will be very serious bloodshed to come, regardless of the outcome. I hope and pray the Iranians achieve their freedom.

Isn’t it amazing how Obama has no reservations about “meddling” in the affairs of Honduras, but he can’t call Iran and Whackjob on their obvious election fraud?

Yup.
This totally screws up Obama’s plans to have a
constructive dialog with another dicatator, Ahmanutjob.
I smell fear too.
The smell will increase on July 4 and continue through
the summer.
It would be pleasant to see Obama and Ahmanutjob fall
on the same day.
Something we should shoot for.

That was GREAT! I loved the way all was sweetness and light for the first minute or so, and then a large coordinated demonstration erupted. Quite a few people seemed to know about it in advance. I'm surprised the Iranian intelligence folks didn't stop this before it started.

Any indication when this occurred? I didn't see it if it was there.

Amaninadinnerjacket is rumored to have gotten his start in Iranian politics as a student protestor who was there when the US Embassy Staff was taken hostage.

Live by the student protests; die by the student protests.

I have no info on the time of the event. Just found the link this morning from a twitter blurb.

The Persian youth are amazing. This would be a non event if it were not for them, the file transfer technology, and the open theft of the election.

This is no longer about Mousavi, it is about rebellion to oppression.

Go Persia.

Of course it will go away, they will get sick of getting beat up.

I Disagree

All it would take is for 1 military commander to turn, or a group acquire weapons form outside and the war is on.

OK, it will just be another Islamist taking charge. This is not about their foreign policy.
