On Friday the House narrowly passed the Waxman-Markey climate bill, by a vote of 219 to 212. The conventional wisdom now is that the bill will have a difficult time passing the Senate. This is from the Wall Street Journal:

As it was with the vote in the House, it will be in the Senate: “Voting for Dollars!”

Don't assume the Senate will reject the bill. Now is the time to contact your Senators. We need to sustain the same amount of intensity everyday from today until the vote occurs as we did on Friday. All we need to do is contact one Senator per day either via phone, fax or email to maintain that amount of pressure given the thousands of Freepers. Pour it on and don't let up! Toll free numbers are below.

Don’t count on it. Obama lobbied Congressmen hard to pass Crap and Trade, and he the bitter ballerina Emmanuel are not going to give up half-way through.

Start calling your Senators now!

I want this bill to FAIL!!!!! as it is now and / or how it is modified.

Every REPRESENTATIVE that voted “Yes” should be reprimanded hard for for voting on something that had not seen or heard.

Heck, my wife and I would not even by a sofa without sitting on it first. These people have lost all sense of reality and have NO IDEA what it means to be respondsible.

Guys and Gals, please get out and make noise on this

I don't remember the exact count, but if it were not for the 6 or so RINO scumbag traitors who voted yes this abomination would never have passed. Leave it to the GOP to frack things up for everyone.

Their analysis is faulty. For example, they have Chuck Schumer of NY having “some pressure.”

RIDICULOUS. I know Schumer and he is as partisan as they come. He will vote for Crap and Trade in a second.

We need to keep our eye on the ball. It really sucked to see the house bill pass only because we had some Gopers who jumped ship. I expected a 2 or 3 but 8 was just outrageous. We need to keep our eye on McCain and we need to make sure our Senators understand that no compromise is acceptable. This bill is just plain wrong. It is a bureaucratic nightmare aimed squarely at the whole country. It will affect everything from when you buy gasoline to when you buy build or modify your house.

That’s not necessarily true. The reason the vote was so close was because Pelosi was trying to give as many vulnerable Dems a chance to vote no. Had the seven not voted yes, you would have seen more dems vote yes. Still, these seven gave seven extra dems a lifeline.

Inhofe says the Cap & Trade bill will not pass the Senate, that it’s, “Dead on arrival.”

We went from Inhofe and Reid saying it WON'T pass to "long odds".

I don't like the trend.

Yeah, I’m sure my Senators, Durbin and Burris, will listen to their constitutents and vote their conscience.

And then we go to Jon Kyl, who says the prospect of House bill going to conference committee in the Senate is worrisome. He and other colleagues, however, will work to keep it out of committee and promote a Senate energy (C&T-free) bill instead. The key is identifying who those colleagues are.

Our representatives no longer represent the will of the People.... this will pass or some smoke and mirror version will pass.

I have made and will continue to make the phone calls, but I have no illusion that any of that is going to make a difference anymore.

The pain and destruction of our country will not stop until or unless those in power actually suffer it themselves.

I do not see us getting our country back with a ballot, our political system is far too corrupted (think ACORN) to be turned around with a simple vote.

Besides, much of what we have seen stolen from us is nothing more than reparations dealt from the bottom of the deck. They voted Black, they’re getting Black.

By the way... Michael Jackson is still dead and it is expected that he will remain dead, at least until he’s been buried. However, you will be reminded that he’s dead and still dead every hour for another week or so.... while the POS in DC continue to stab us all in the back. What a Thriller, uh?
