The Washington Post had an interesting article on June 25 headlined, "A First Lady Who Demands Substance." I think it was meant to highlight that fact that Michelle Obama is more than a mere first lady but is a strong, substantive person -- which is, by the way, without question. Unfortunately, though, it ended up revealing a Michelle Obama that is an angry, arrogant, martinet that isn't aware that "first lady" is an honorary title that has no proper, Constitutional role and is not an elected position with legal, legitimate powers of its own.
The story penned by Lois Romano comes on the heels of Michelle's dismissal of her chief of staff, Jackie Norris, who was replaced by 61-year-old Susan Sher. Apparently, this switch is supposed to mark the arrival of the new Michelle Obama, the one that will have "impact" at the "fulcrum of power and policy." To pursue this new "power" Michelle has hired a full-time speech writer and has told her staff to think "strategically."
Impact? Power? Strategically? I have but one question: who elected you to this "power," Michelle? I also have an answer: no one.
What a presumptuous, arrogant woman this wife is! I can't believe I am going to say this, but here goes... Michelle, if you want legal and legitimate power do it the right way like Hillary Clinton did. Actually get elected to something. Don't steal it illegitimately like Hillary tried to do when she was First Lady. Go gain what you imagine is your rightful place at the seat of power the proper way. Run for something...

Now who want’s their pants back?
I predicted the angry entitled Michelle would explode from the pressure of having to be around white people (doting on her hsuband and her family) and having to be nice to everyone. Her anger glows through on her photos, when she is caught in an unguarded moment. Poor little girls with an angry mother living a fake image, and pooor her, to miss so much of life when it has given her so much.
Hillary was an angry woman, too. I think that is why Laura Bush was like the calm after a bad storm.
Popcorn, anyone.
Since the first lady has no defined Constitutional role, is it Constitutional for the taxpayers of the U.S. to be forced to pay the salary of her “full time speech writer”?
This article is full of it. The substance Michelle demands is booze.
Is that the title given to the head rag lady of Kenya?
ugly ping
I'd really like to see where in the Constitution the "first lady" gets to stuff a staff of 20 with her old cronies that kissed her ass since her affirmative action college 'daze.' A STAFF OF 20 FOR A "MOM"?!!!
Winnie who?
They don’t look like they are having/just had a very good time, do they?
We have governor clueless Jenny here in Michigan. Michigan, as you may know as a very high unemployment rate, high taxes, and lots of government. Clueless’ husband Daniel has a staff of at least three and probably receives a salary as well as “First Gentleman.” Clueless is a key Maobama supporter so may have coached the Maobamas on staffing for the “Empress” Michelle Insane Obama.
As for the power stuff, being at the "fulcrum" of power is not the same as being the power. It means being influential. Does anyone think any first lady isnt influential? Nancy Reagan sure was, Hillary Clinton sure was, I'm sure in her own way Laura Bush was though certainly more subtly I'd wager.
I'm no fan of Michelle Obama but maybe we should wait until she inevitably says something outrageous before we slam her. So far she's hid it well. But it will come out, her inner anger is still there.

BUTTress!
the point is however, what the hell does she need a staff for? maybe one person to perform secretarial duties but what else? who elected her?
i use any and all feminine apellations loosely when speaking of her since she is far more masculine than her husband.
