Recently, Palin, 45, made international headlines for engaging in an absurd feud with talk show host David Letterman and excoriating an Alaskan blogger for doctoring a photo of her special-needs son, Trig.

But under the librarian hairstyle is a surprisingly athletic and fitness-oriented individual (Editor's note: I disagree with Sarah Palin politically on practically every issue. This article discusses her diet and fitness regimen, not her politics).

To keep in shape, Palin, a mom of five, is an avid runner. "Conventional running is my sanity," she has said. "I usually write my best speeches and letters [in my head] while out running."

It’s funny how she feels the need to add an “Editor’s Note” to tell the SF ninnies that the writer wouldn’t DARE believe life, liberty, and limited government. Ha!

Ha ha haaaaaaaaaa!!!

Of course it was considered an "absurd feud" after Palin kicked Letterman's flabby girly-man rump up and down Broadway.

Translation: I'm about to say something nice about her -- but don't hate me! -- I realize that she is the most vile woman on the planet! I'm a good person!

Injecting a statement like this is absolute journalistic malpractice.

That’s exactly what it is. Its almost a reflex action amongst the libs. Please don’t hate me, even though I’m about to say something nice about Sarah

btw 70% approval rating amongst Republican isn’t good enough. Obama has like 90% approval rating amongst Democrats

Absurd? It was all Letterman... how 'bout that "absurd" feud Obama had with Rush?

Excoriating? Somehow... I don't think it is funny to photoshop someone who can't defend themselves...

I bet just for fun... you push little old ladies down the escalator...

I always get a kick out of writers or speakers who feel compelled to disclaim their piece at the outset and reassure their audiences that they are still liberal Democrats.

This writer is plagiarizing brazenly and openly from the WSJ. I knew when I read it that it sounded familiar. I had reda an eariler WSJ article about her exercise habits. So I googled the WSJ article and it’s exactly the same.

Here it is from 9/5/2008:

“Conventional running is my sanity,” Palin says. Having recently given birth to her fifth child, the governor is trying to get back to her old workout routine. She was running 7 to 10 miles almost every day but switched to aerobics classes at her gym when she became pregnant. She has worked her way back up to running three miles every other day.

In the summer, when it’s always light, she’ll sometimes run as late as midnight. In the dead of winter, when it’s dark, she sneaks in an afternoon run, or else grudgingly runs on the treadmill at home or at the gym in the evening.

and also:

While I’m working out
“I’m thinking about my next speech. I usually write my best speeches and letters [in my head] while out running. That is my inspired time.”

That’s word for word what’s in this article, and the author gives no attribution or anything, makes it seem like she came up with it. She just copied the WSJ 100%.

No wonder newspapers are dying.

There were some other interesting tidbits in the article. Here’s her talking about her upper body workout and how effective snowmachining is:

Palin keeps dumbbells at home, but she says most of her upper body strength comes from snowmobiling with her family. “It’s the best upper body workout you could ever have,” she says. “You’re maneuvering through hundreds of pounds of powder.”

I bet Barack knows all about maneuvering through powder.

And lastly:

“My ideal fantasy is to be running on a hot dusty road just wearing running shorts and some kind of top that wicks away sweat.

I can think of a few hot dusty roads nearby. If only she had talked more about her ideal fantasies I think we might have bene able to pull out the victory. Oh, well. Next time.

Of course he does. He just won them the WH for the 1st time in 8 yrs, with their biggest majority in 50 yrs. I bet you if McCain had won in November he’d be at 90% among Republicans too.

Where were Kerry and Edwards after they lost, or Gore and Lieberman? Or Dole and Kemp? Usually when you lose you’re finished.

To be around 75%(around 85% among conservatives) given all that has happened and the media treating her like Jodie Foster in the opening scene of The Accused is not that bad a place to be.

Note from reader, me (for this article only):

Samantha Chang doesn’t agree with Sarah Palin on just about every issue but doesn’t mind using her to make money writing an article about her. She then blames Sarah Palin for the jokes Dave Letterman told about her daughter and excuses the idiot who doctored a photo of her son.

Got it!

It is a nice article, but I would rather see articles on her policies and leadership. This kind of stuff cheapens her to a tabloid type figure regarding her looks, even if the intentions are good. If she wants to be a serious contender, limit the press to serious policy articles!!

for example, there’s a quinnipiac poll from may 12, 2008, after Obama had already won the dem nomination and had it locked up for around 3 months, and had over a year of the best media coverage in world history. Among dems he had a 63-20 approval rating. So she’s already 10 pts higher than he was after he had already won the nomination. Throught most of 2007 he was around the mid 60s. So, again to be at 73 this far in advance is pretty good. Usually those numbers tend to go up as you campaign.
