“if you can’t convince your own kids”
Many of us WERE democrats in our youth. We were lucky enoough to be afforded the time to mature and see where that was leading.
as i said, i was raised as a democrat, in my youth, as well. but my parents were knee jerk democrats with no knowledge of issues and political philosophies. my dad said that republicans were for the rich and the democrats were for the “little guy”, and he believed that til he died 8 years ago. i was 30 years old before i came to see the light and to understand the difference in the philosophies. my kids have the benefit of parents who have seen both sides and can explain, in detail, the differences. having the rationale explained is the only way for them to get it. it takes more than just saying BE A CONSERVATIVE, it’s better.
