You morons. A billionaire just patted you on the head for doing his bidding with my money and you are too stupid to realize it. Do you really think you can turn down the earth's temperature like a house thermostat? How will you know when you've got the temperature just right? When we're all living in caves and wearing loincloths because construction and manufacturing have been driven from the country?
How do you reduce dependence on foreign oil?
Use domestic oil! And gas! And coal! If your damned windmills were economically viable, T. Boone, you wouldn't have to be mooching my tax dollars to keep your Rube Goldberg scheme going.

Businesses deemed "dirty" or "ungreen" will simply move to where they don't have to put up with this statist BS. The Democratic party, and some of its associate members in the GOP, have just taken a giant crap on the little guy, the forgotten man, who can barely put gas in the tank and pay the light bill right now.
Can we now drop, once and for all, this liberal fantasy that the GOP is for big business and the Democrats are for the little guy? This legislation is worth millions to T. Boone Pickens. How much is it worth to you?

Electric utilities LOVE Cap&Tax ,, we pay for the windmills , solar panels and huge taxes on natural gas and coal ,, that adds to their cost basis ... gee ... lets think for a minute ... don’t most utilities have a cost plus percentage arrangement with the state? MORE COST AT THE SAME CONTRACTED PROFIT PERCENTAGE = MORE PROFIT ...
My local electric utility was in the habit of buying the latest and greatest IBM came out with every year... they didn’t need it ,, their mainframes idled most of the day and ran MAYBE 10-15% busy (and of that most was MVS overhead not actual real work for their IMS and CICS applications) ... but buying a few multi-million dollar machines a year was a “gimme” and added to their cost basis

People like Pickens only have our best interests at heart. The fact that he wants to build a corridor of wind power across the center of the United States has no sway over his care for the U.S. He just wants us off mid-east oil and make America energy independent. Well, except for dependence on his companies. But, that doesn’t mean that his support, destined to make him even richer, is all for himself. Honestly, it’s just coincidence.

This is a scam perpetrated by politicians and a few people who want to get rich off them. Face it, Congress controls where we get energy from, which means they control a major part of the economy. Pickens is one of those hoping to get even richer off of the government’s tomfoolery. And in exchange, he will support those nice Democrats who gave him the money and the opportunity.
The rest of the country will pay for it.
I think it may be time to start a third party. A conservative party that governs in the interest of the public, not lobbyists and scamming politicians.

well it’s a good thing you’re not in California - the environuts have ordained we can’t burn wood anymore excepting a few days a year and only in certain areas, and no new houses can be built with woodburning fireplaces as of Jan 08.
otoh, over there in Florida you got lots of biofuel starter with all that greenery, which could run your generator which could power your A/C :)
