The question now is rather whether the issuer is still attached to the black box view of the circumstances of the accident, says a close source.Not completely sure what this means.

I had read the report that a signal was being picked up, but I believe that was a few days ago. If it was legit, they should have been able to zero in on it unless it is drifting....a distinct possibility.

Those black boxes have ‘pingers’ on them ... they should be sending out a signal ... either under water or buried in the woods somewhere ....

Im not sure if this is totally accurate according to the below diagram since there are additional recordings in the cockpit section... I think he read the diagram wrong, it states that there are " Cockpit microphones which record 2 hours of pilots voices, engine noise and other sounds" The mic are there but the actual recording storage is in the tail section
