Notice the ILL connection for this “restored” project: Is the IL repubbie (north Chicago above) getting money/hometown favors from this coal-powered project?

“The companies, two of the biggest coal-burning utilities in the U.S., are exiting the Futuregen Alliance just weeks after it won renewed support from the federal government. The Obama administration earlier this month all but guaranteed almost $1.1 billion for the project, to be based in Mattoon, Ill., reviving a project that had suffered a major setback in early 2008 when the Bush administration backed out of funding plans after costs almost doubled.”

Kirk’s district is home to a bunch of lake shore libs. He has plans to run for state wide office.
I would imagine he may well be on WLS Sunday defending his position. He is a regular guest on Beyond the Beltway (6-8 central time as well as the show Tom Roeser hosts right after it.
Both shows can be heard on the radio or Internet.(wlsam.com)
