There Has NEVER Been a Government Health Plan ANYWHERE That Did Not Ration Care

If passed, President Obama's proposal for a government run option will doom us all to US Government Run Health Care

“I strongly believe that Americans should have the choice of a public health insurance option operating alongside private plans,” Obama wrote. “This will give them a better range of choices, make the health care market more competitive, and keep insurance companies honest.”

Logic dictates that a government operated health plan would be able to charge less than one operated by the private sector. Even if all other things were equal since the government plan would not have to make a profit, the public run company would have a built-in competitive advantage.

Yesterday the President said that the government would not force a change, but of course just like they can do today, a company can force a change. Now follow the logic out, if the government plan doesn't have to make a profit, and if all other costs are the same, it can charge less. So which way do you think companies will go? If You have a group of competitors and one has virtually unlimited resources and does not have to make a profit, how long before the competition is struggling for customers.

Eventually you will end up with ONE insurance company named Uncle Sam. And when your good Uncle Sam wants to save some money, he will start making bureaucratic, rather then medical decisions about your health. Mom wont get that treatment to save her life because it is expensive, or Uncle Sam will determine when to pull the plug on grandma. How am I so sure? Because there has NEVER Been a Government Health Plan That Did Not Ration Care.

When a cheaper alternative with lower quality is made available, employers will opt to purchase those less costly insurance plans, forcing employees to accept this cheaper alternative which may or may not allow them to keep their current doctors. Employees may also be invited to purchase their own healthcare if they have their heart set on keeping their own physician after years of establishing a trusting doctor-patient relationship. This is the part you’re not told, that ultimately, it will be a luxury to keep your existing physician and your existing health plan.

Exactly. With the taxpayer picking up the personnel costs for the administration of the government plan, who can compete with that?

Also, like Medicare that underpays hospitals & doctors, the public option plan will have lower fees for service than private health ins.

Private health insurance companies will wither & die as they are forced to increase the premiums for the few clients they’ll have.

Obama will continue to then point out that those insurance companies are just trying to rip off the public. Saying that they should be closed down.

The insurance companies are the villians, they killed his mother or his estranged mother, the one that deserted him.

As it stands, Obamacare will put millions of people OUT of work. Insurance companies are employers of millions of potentially out of work people. So, they will be on unemployment but have Obamacare insurance cards to obtain care. If they can find it...physicians will retire.. especially those who are close to retirement. They are already buried under mounds and mounds of paperwork, not to mention paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for malpractice insurance. Obama will NOT do anything about curbing lawsuits, so I guess if it comes down to government run health care, then he will make sure the goverment doctors cannot be sued because basically they cannot be seen. Always remember it was ONE man who killed your grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, etc. because HE decided he needed a legacy to poke Hillary in the eye with.
