People are losing faith in the process itself. They are seeing it’s all about spending and buying votes. While one party does it alot more, the corruption and influence peddling is affecting virtually all. The disgust is apparent.

It’s true. Independents are particularly libertarian leaning sorts are appalled by what they’ve seen already from this administration and Congress, and it’s still early in the term. Perception is finally beginning to catch up to reality.

Because the GOP fails to stand for anything. Why should anyone be a Republican?

Too bad they didn’t abandon him pre-November 2008, when it still counted.

It's nice that people claim to be abandoning the Democrats, and it's understandable that they aren't flocking to the Republicans - because, with few exceptions, today's GOP are nothing but conwardly losers who are just slightly less liberal than O'Bongo and the Rats.

However, instead of viewing the burgeoning ranks of so-called independent voters as a likely boon to GOP chances, keep in mind that the precise politicial definition of an "independent" or a "moderate" is: a person who is too gutless to admit that they really are a liberal.

Flippers. Despicable.

This is what comes from not having PRINCIPLES in the first place. You'll fall for any slick talking shyster to come along and change sides every time the wind blows.

That’s like saying “Man who stepped on land mine yesterday really regrets it today”

Sorry, these bungholes should have figured things out last year and not voted for BO in the first place—some mistakes you learn from and move on from, but some are too big, like this-these people have brought our great country to the brink of ruin.

Only bright spot is—hopefully enough people wake up and join those who weren’t asleep at the wheel to fight for our country from the vermin (both inside and outside the U.S.) who are trying to destroy it. I honestly don’t know if the U.S. (as we have known it) will survive all this, but maybe this whole thing will function as an enema, and flush out the waste, and maybe this time we can stay with the principles our Maker and our Founding Fathers gave us to follow—it worked pretty well before.

Most people who identify as “independant” really mean “I have no clue except what the media tells me”.

No problem. They’ll be back aboard the bus by the next election.

I'm suspicious of any author who plays fast and loose with the facts: “... which was a principal reason Mr. Obama became the first Democrat to win a majority of the popular vote in a presidential election in 32 years.”

I think anyone that follows politics recalls that Al Gore won a majority of the popular vote in the 2000 election — but the wisdom of the founding fathers in making sure the smaller states would not be disenfranchised by creating the Electoral college spared us a Gore presidency.

The grumblings IMHO are growing louder and louder. If jobs don’t start to appear by the end of summer I truely think we will se a sharp reversal in all of the polls where 58%+ disapprove of him and his polices. Now that they have figured out what the “change” was they are rapidly losing “hope”!
