Governor Perry had harsh words for Republicans in Washington, projected confidence that Republicans can make a comeback in 2010, questioned why Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison would challenge him in the primary race for governor, and talked about Governor Palin's endorsement of his campaign.
Clearly, Governor Perry is proud of his record as governor, and his talking points reflect that. During our interview, he often guided the conversation toward his record as governor of the Lone Star State. For example, he told me: We continued to cut taxes ... to pass the most sweeping tort reform in the nation in 2003 ... we balanced our budget, we left $9 billion in our rainy day fund, we passed the most sweeping eminent domain for private property owners in the history of the state ... We did all that with a recession going on.
So does Palin endorsing a rino like Perry make Palin a rino too ?
In the next few years, Palin will be collecting IOUs and friends. Come 2012 or 2016, they will be cashed in.
They’re not calling Mittens or the Huckster....they’re calling PALIN.
If Perry is a RINO, then KBH is da Mother of all RINOS
....just sayin
Not a question a conservative would ask or contemplate.
If Sarah Palin doesn't get the nod in 2012 I predict she's through. Just like Hillary will never get the nod now.
I think Rick’s got a thang for Sarah.

At this stage, I would call Perry smart. He know the effect Sarah has on the base, and even some “independents”. I’m not all that sure about his policies as governor, but if he starts acting like Sarah on fiscal issues, I’m sure he can count on large swathe of the social-conservative base that follows Sarah.

Just ask Saxby Chambliss.
“If Sarah Palin doesn’t get the nod in 2012 I predict she’s through. Just like Hillary will never get the nod now.”
Not quite following the Hillary analogy. Sarah is 15 to 20 years younger and Hillary is overshadowed by Obama. Palin is not overshadowed (at the moment) by anyone she would have to run against.
I respectfully disagree. Hillary’s age, her baggage, and the fact she’ll would have to fight “O” in 2012 (who will have the advantages of being an incumbent with a large war chest, support base and ACORN) has made her a “one and done” candidate.
Sarah’s options are a little more varied. She could run for President in 2012, wait to 2016, run for Senate or stay the govenor. She’s still young and has popular support with the conservative base.
I'm not sayin’ that it's right, I'm just sayin’
that I can certainly see why he'd have a thang
for Sarah.
BTW, the last time I used the word “thang” on this site,
a lynch mob came after me.
Huh?
Isn't that "THAN"?
Go SARAH!!
No, its payback for Kay Bailey.
it’s like the GOP is playing to lose.
odds are good that the GOP will not ‘give her the nod’... since they are about as left as the middle of the road dems. they have demonstrator numerous times that they are not interested in conservatives.
not a shock to me. my congresscritters have done nothing for 10+ years, except do the bare minimum to get re-elected.
as for being represented... LOL... not only am i not represented, me and my kind are vilified and attacked regularly in the media and by government officials.
