The best & the brightest on the left go into politics. The best on the right run their own businesses. So it is no surprise that the left is far more adept, even expert at the art of hardball politics. And they are telling us something profound.
The left is telling us something many feel, many find as a hunch, that Sarah Palin is the most dangerous threat to the Øbama administration with no close second. The left is telling us this by their "over the top" attacks. Not just the Letterman assaults, but the constant barrage of grievances filed against her in Alaska. The attacks every day on Palin for no apparent reason -- except that the left seems to see her quite differently from any Republican candidate. A difference of kind, not of degree.
Actually I don’t think parsy is on the right forum, here’s one of parsy’s posts from yesterday:

Very true. Two years is a generation in national politics. I remember just five years ago after Bush won reelection with expanded majorities in congress there was all of the talk of the dem party being finished, political realignment, and how the democrats would need to spend their time in 'the wilderness'. Looking back, that seems like a lifetime ago.

I like her but she wont have a chance in hell in winning I;m sorry to say . Again I like her but we need an almost historical figure to come out and lead us against the Marxist take over of American..She’s not it.

I agree that the “liberal” mindset is actually a mental disorder. It has to be. Have you ever tried to rationalize anything with a liberal? I have, and it’s extremely frustrating. They are in some kind of trance.

I think real intellectuals know when to keep their mouths shut sometimes. Palin is likable, and if I had to vote for her, it wouldn’t hurt too much, but she has always come across to me as just a little short in the knowledge dept. I think it is fixable and with time I think she will do all right, she’ll grow.

I agree. She is already serving a great purpose with the media trying to attack her regularly. They are trying to distract attention from what an abject failure Obama is, but what is happening is that the people across the US are getting regular reminders that she would have been, and will be a much better choice.
As conditions worsen, and they most certainly will, she will be a welcome visitor to any candidate's rally for the 2010 primaries and general elections.
I know a couple of Obama voters who are already regretful of their choice, and frightened of what more is to come from this corrupt administration.

Clinton was darn close. I hate to say it because the durn arrogance of that administration was such a turn off, but Clinton was brilliant. Give the devil his due.
