"Where's Dick Cheney with the waterboard?"
As angry as I am at Letterman and the whole double-standard media that was pretty good. He is very smart. He knows where the line is.
Of course that’s what makes the Palin jokes so terrible, he knows EXACTLY what he’s doing. Maybe he’ll cool his heels for awhile now.
The double-standard must die.
Who’s next???
Gotta admit — when I heard the Top 10 on the radio this morning, I thought it was pretty good. No cheap potshots. (Hell, the radio guys made more fun of the 50 people at the rally.)
Actually, I am dismayed at all of the publicity Dave is getting from this. And he is milking it for all it is worth.
It's not possible to have a controversy without both sides getting publicity in the short term. What matters is how it effects his behavior both now and in the future.
For example, he did a segment on the Fire David Letterman protesters last night but it was not snarky and even I thought it was (mildly) amusing.
If he stays on that course then we've won. It's too early to tell but I believe we've scored a bit hit on his future attitudes towards Sarah and other conservatives, at least IMO.
Now we need a new target to take down so that we're not a one hit wonder like the Imus protests.
“it was nice of cbs to provide the catering”
that was funny. that’s the first top ten list he’s done for a long time that actually was amusing. like my grandma used to say...if you can’t laugh at yourself, you’re in big trouble.
hmmm... here’s some suggestions:
Olbermann the Foamin’ Doberman
Maddog (as in Rachel, not Russo)
Katie Couric (nothing comes to me)
Campbell Brown, Randi Kaye, and the rest of that coven
Then there’s Peggy Noonan (we thought we knew ye) and Kathleen Parker (who the h*ll is she, anyway?)
