Obama Trying To Become President More Than Eight Years

House Joint Resolution 5(H.J.Res.5) will repeal the twenty second amendment allowing a President an unlimited number of terms. It was introduced by Rep. Jose Serrano(NY-16) on January 6, 2009 and referred to to the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties on February 9, 2009. It wouldn't surprise me if this lays dormant for a period of time until we near 2012 and then it is suddenly brought to a vote like so many other bills favoring socialists that have been rushed through Congress without any debate. I suggest contacting Congress critters now and let them know this is another attempt to strengthen the executive branch at the expense of check and balances and the people. Forewarned is forearmed. The text of the bill is below.

"Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President."

I would agree except there are things that have happened in the past six months that I thought I would never see in the USA. Never underestimate evil and power.

I'd be happy if he acted like an American President for 10 flippin' minutes...

Do I get credit for predicting this about 2 weeks ago? King Obama for Life. That what the Dummies want.

He ain’t gonna get a fifth year. Yet, if they were to get this passed, we’ll get about 16-20 years of President Sarah Palin, with which I would not have a problem at all. We’re gonna need America’s version of an “Iron Lady” after this pinhead gets done with his four years.

I have proposed an amendment that would allow a President to a third term if he winss 55 percent of the vote in reelection, or 66 percent of the electoral vote. No reason to kick a Reagan out of office.

Do your homework. A bill to repeal the Presidential term limit has been introduced in every Congress in recent memory. It has never gotten anywhere. 2/3 of Congress and 3/4 of the States. Not happening.

And its posted about here on FR just about weekly.

I wrote him and told him to “leave the Constitution alone!”

Is everyone out to lunch. If an amdt is passed, it cannot apply to a sitting prez. The one after him yes, can you say Sarah Palin?

There's no such language in the bill.
