CBS News (of all places) is reporting a recent gaffe that was made by President Obama. It appears that the man who the media is telling us is the most brilliant President in our nations history doesn't even know the correct name of the desk inside the Oval Office that he likes to use as a footstool.

That photo with his feet on the desk infuriates me and is an insult to the office of president.

The correct usage is "Smarter than Bush?" not "Smarter then Bush?"

I hate to play the spelling nazi, but the incorrect usage is especially embarassing when attempting to make a statement about intelligence.

P.S. Make sure you know the difference between "women" and "woman" too. That one irks me even more.

He puts his stinking feet on the Resolute?!?

Are his daughters still planning on doodling on Lincoln’s desk, too??

Such disrespect for the irreplaceable treasures in the [former] people’s house.

Yes, let's forget about abortion, the economy, 2nd ammendment, etc. etc. and worry about THIS. Let's start impeachment proceedings right away! BTW - try going to Google images and look at Bush feet on desk.

I think ol’ Billy Clinton out-dissed Obama in regards to the desk with what happened under it rather than on it.

The stupid suit has no respect for America, the American People or anything else American, it’s all about HIM first, last and always.

Never forget and spread the word.
obama=dim party=state run media.
Birds of a feather. They all hate this country and the way it is currently operating. They want to change it and us to be servants of the govt. with them in charge. They see the Constitution as an impediment to their plans. The dim party has been drifting toward state control for 20 years, but with their minority president, they can sprint toward control of the population and counter any resistance as racists. They are putting in place controls over:
Our money (take over of the banks)
Our free speech (assault on talk radio)
Our vehilces we drive (take over of the auto industry)
Where we live (take over of the mortgage industry. See banks)
And add to that our healthcare. This will be the nail in the coffin because they will politicize the industry. Just watch who gets denied care based on their age and other factors. These people are CONTROL FREAKS with the full power of the federal government at their disposal. They are not loyal to this country or it’s citizens. They are loyal to their party only.
Never forget this. The dim party is obama and obama is the dim party. The media has given up on our country and has been defacto taken over by the dim party. Never vote for another dim even for the position of dogcatcher.

OK, maybe it's just because it's Monday, and I don't mean to be the “Post Police”, but when disparaging Obama’s intellect, it would probably be a good idea to know the difference between “then” (an expression of time or sequence) an “than” (an expression of comparison) and use them in an accordingly correct manner. Again, sorry but it does tend to undermine the credibility of your post (and by extension, the forum) with our opposition .

That said, IMO Bush was a dumb-sounding smart guy (read the transcripts, vs listening. He actually had a lot of vision and a great message), while Obama is a smart-sounding dumbass (he tries so hard to sound educated that he just sounds pedantic and arrogant, but never really says anything of substance. It's all just populist rhetoric).

For all of his money and success, Obama is and will remain "low rent". It's ingrained in his character. Look at his upbringing and how he was raised.

He acts like he's still just one of the guys at some street-corner Legal Aid office, "helpin' his people" and "shootin' hoops" on his lunch break like the bleeding-heart, fatally flawed, lovable loser, central character in every repetitive John Grisham novel.

He has absolutely no sense of the protocols or propriety expected of "his office". He probably isn't even aware of the historical significance of the place and accouterments of his workplace, and he sure isn't going to get any accurate information about that from the rogue's gallery of ghetto rat hangers in his "Posse". He'll just make up new ones that he (more likely, his harridan wife) deems appropriate to his reign - and to hell with the outmoded traditions of a bunch of "dead, white Europeans". If he was white, Republican, and acted like he does, Carville would call him "trailer trash".

thanks for the correction. i admit, i was a C average student at best who hated school, and never set foot inside an institution of higher learning once i graduated from high school. i’m just an average everyday blue-collar joe, not an english professor. and to be honest, if it wasn’t for the fact that the liberals were constantly, relentlessly hounding Bush over his intelligence, i wouldn’t even post this kind of stuff. but since they attacked him over gaffe he made, i feel that it’s only fair to point out there mistakes as well. again, thanks for helping me out.

I agree. Especially when it's in a headline.

As I recall, this disgraceful excuse for a Harvard law grad also can’t tell the difference between the Declaration of Independence and the Preamble to the Constitution, as evidenced by a campaign speech he gave in Philly. Even my 11 year old knows both, as should any American old enough to understand American history.

I'm pretty sure i've seen a photo of George W Bush with his feet up on the desk in the oval office.

Just pointing it out.
