The shooting by James Van Brunn at the Holocaust museum for most people, was simply the act of a deranged anti-Semitic lunatic who, like most hate mongers spent his life blaming others for his own shortcoming and inadequacies.
But what could be a bigger problem for President Obama is having to deal with the fact that the day before the shooting, similar lunatic rantings were made by the man who Obama said was like a member of his own family, the man who introduced him to his wife, the man who baptized his children and the man in whose church Obama spent 17 years.
The day before the shooting at the Holocaust museum, Jeremiah Wright made statements almost identical to that of Van Brunn. Van Brunn left notes and passages on his web site claiming that Obama was "owned by the Jews". Wright said a day before the shooting that "them Jews wont let me talk to him" .
Wright went on to say that the Jews controlled Obama, a statement almost identical to Van Brunn's who said Jews "owned" Obama.
Given Obama's 17 year association with Wright, one that Obama severed only because it threatened to derail his political ambitions, not based on any principle, Obama is now going to be under a microscope even if that microscope is not talked about publicly, with everything Obama says and does as it relates to Israel and the middle east dissected and analyzed. It's not going to be easily dismissed that Obama spent 17 years in Wright's church seemingly undisturbed by Wright's anti-American, anti-white, anti-semitic ranting.
Given that Obama is first and foremost a political animal,Wright's statements coming the same week as the Holocaust Museum shooting is going to put Obama in a difficult political position especially in dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian problem.
Knowing that he may be under more intense scruitiny, does he prove to the Muslim world who are liable to take Wright's remarks seriously, that he isn't "owned by the Jews"? Or does he prove to Jews and Israel that his 17 year association with a raving anti-Semite whose views are similar to that of the neo Nazi museum shooter and who he once called a member of his own family, that this is something he had always rejected?
My guess is the first thing Obama will do is what he always does when he feels faced with a political problem. The speech is probably being written right now.
Rev. Jeremiah Van Brunn.
‘bout time someone made the comparison. Good work!!!
I've been posting it, but it always helps when it becomes an article.
Headline News this morning had a very indignant FBI official declaiming how the nation won’t tolerate hatred and hate-fueled murders by white supremacist groups or individuals. He essentially said “we’ll hunt you down.”
Did I miss the same statement from the FBI regarding the murder of Pvt. Long in Little Rock by a black hate-fueled muslim bigot? Where is the righteous indignation about black muslim hatred of the U.S. and white people? The silence is deafening.
Does anyone know if “The Examiner” is a typical left-wing newspaper?

Yesterday evening while I was at work, I allowed a young black woman from the business establishment next door use my jumper cables. She looked at me like she thought I didn't trust her to take them over there and use them and bring them back. I reminded her of the passage in the Bible about treating others as you would have them treat you. She brought them back with a big smile on her face which communicated "Thanks for trusting me." The government can NOT force people to change the way they think about others.
Only God's Word can do that. I am tired of the pithy statements by the FBI, etc. ad nauseum trying to tell everyone how they're going to think. All that does is engender hatred. You have to teach people about Jesus and His love for everyone to show them a reason to decide (on their own) to change their thinking.
I have no dislike for Jews, Blacks, Arabs, Muslims, North Koreans, etc. unless their behaviors violate moral values demonstrated in the Bible. Even then, I don't hate them. I do, however, have an intense dislike for authoritarian rule backed up by men who think highly of themselves because they think they are in control. Such statements as "we'll hunt you down" only fosters more popularity for such radical groups and helps them recruit. That was not a wise comment. God is in control of the events in the course of human history. Those who forget that soon learn better. Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin.
We have Fred Phelps here in Kansas and if you look at his site you can see how he is baiting hate mongerers like himself to go after the Jewish community among others to stir the hate pot.
This weekend - today and Saturday he is picketing on all KC based Jewish organizations.
Rev Wright and guys like Phelps are just Bigots.
