It wasn’t about Bristol it was about Willow. Big difference IMO. Tasteless either way but Bristol is free to do as she wishes.
One must have a very thick skin if one is to enter the political realm.
One is an adult (Bristol is 18) and one was a child (Chelsea was 14). I think that is a big difference, however, Letterman is disgusting.
That would be the case if Letterman had been talking about Bristol. He wasn’t, she wasn’t in Yankee Stadium Sunday or New York for that matter. Her 14 year old sister was however.
I think the David Shuster comment was while Hillary was running for President. Chelsea was an adult. Willow, the daughter at the ball game) is 14.
Letterman and Mahrer et al are not about “taste.”
They are about “hate” and that qualifies them for the Big Three networks, which is why I don’t watch any of them any more.
So here’s my David Letterman joke: David Letterman visits the doctor for a checkup, and after some tests, the doctor comes in with a grave look on his face.
Doctor: Well, I have some bad news and some really bad news.
David Letterman: Well, give me the really bad news first.
Doctor: You have cancer, and only 6 months to live.
David Letterman: And the bad news?
Doctor: You have Alzheimer’s disease.
David Letterman: That’s great. I was afraid I had cancer!
I would suggest that the time has come to tell some really bad David Letterman jokes....which we can readily steal from various joke databases...and the emphasis here...is to tell some jokes which just aren’t that funny...and see who gets the “worst” one.
If Letterman had made the same joke about Chelsea he would have been found in his home having committed arkancide.....
I wouldn’t even want to see what would happen to him if he made even a “Clean” joke about Obama’s daughters...Probably a Beheading in the name of allah...

Mr. Letterman will never apologize because he believes he did nothing wrong.Even Leno and O’Brian aren’t that stupid.
A letter to each of his sponsors stating your disgust with his comments and your refusal to purchase the sponsors products should help.
Letterman.... hmmmm. The name sounds familiar. I just can’t put a face to it right now. Ever since I found my On/Off button on my TV I have been having these memory issues with these worthless media personalities.
That's simply not true. Letterman and his writers go after the right (Palin in particular) consistently and with vindictive fervor. I have yet to hear Letterman joke about Obama. Ever.
If these were "mistakes," we could expect the jokes attacks to be evenly split between left and right.

To be perfectly fair to Letterman and his writers, it is entirely possible they were unclear as to which daughter was visiting NY with Mom. In which case they’re guilty of sloppiness and poor research rather than promotion of statutory rape.
Regardless of which daughter they were referring to, the guy is a disgusting pig.
I really don’t care for the Letterman types and have never watched more than a few minutes of their shows. It seems that persons who make a living off of exploiting other peoples’ humanity must have a very dark side of their own.
Don Imus was run out of radio for similar remarks. Where’s the outrage?
