Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell Tax Increase PA Department of Revenue Fiscal Year 2009

Possible Tax Plan Slogan: Nothing Works Like For Rendell

Governor Edward "G. I Ain't Got No Money" Rendell (D-Philly Cheesesteak) expects that a raise in both the personal and impersonal income tax will be needed to pay for the state's budget and his last re-election campaign.

Democrats say the personal tax shouldl be raised 30 percent to 3.37 percent, but that leaves nearly 97 percent of the income untouched by state government hands.

The impersonal income tax is assessed on that money people never really get a chance to know and money the state gets to know even less. It is sometimes referred to as "milk money," "fun money," "the vacation fund," "college savings" and even "mortgage payment."

Rendell said levying a tax on impersonal income could help the state sort out years of fiscal mismanagement and provide for subsidies of industrial windmills.

"Windmills are just like the state," joked Rendell. "They only work some of the times and that's usually when hot air is blowing."
