That’s right. Never heard of ADD/ADHD when I was a kid. Bust a butt...that’s the cure.

If there is a condition known as ADHD, we hadn’t heard of it in the 50’s when I was in school. We did have some dropouts, though, and perhaps these kids would be diagnosed as ADHD today-—who knows?

i agree. when i was a kid that problem was signified by different letters B*R*A*T*. and a good ol’ fashioned butt whoopin cured it pretty darn quick.

Sorry, guys. ADD/ADHD is real. Have 2 sons with it and a husband who was not identified until he was 45 - he grew up in the 50’s. There are plenty of brats, not all of them have ADHD. These people been around forever, just never needed a name. They’re the square pegs that don’t fit into public education round holes. Public education has created the name and the category in order to medicate them so they are just like the other drones in the classroom. In the past these individuals would more likely become farmers and craftsmen. Today’s society favors and demands personalities and learning styles that nicely fit into their timed out and highly organized molds, anything else is considered “abnormal’ and must be ‘fixed’.
