We are still paying the price for FDR's extended stay. The government-dependent mindset he began is destroying this country as we speak.

Call me cynical, but I don’t think the author has another Bush term in mind. Good grief - 0bama hasn’t been in half a year and two terms isn’t enough?
To: jazminerose
Oh my!
Let's repeal the 22nd Amendment only when a Democrat/Socialist is president and bring it back when Republicans hold office.
That should appease the left.

Term limits—GOOD!
Unlimited power and control—BAD!
Not enough loonatics in America to get this to happen. I predict Obama will be impeached before this term is over if he continues destroying the economy and moral values of America!

Better worry about his znd term first - eventually onver the next 3 years the American people will see him and his spendaholic cronies for what they are - if not God help us all.

Who’s paying for this? That’s the question should all be asking.
To: jazminerose
Well, that didn’t take long. I though we would have a year or two before this nonsense started.

if The One does not self-destruct in a first term I have no doubts there will be a serious push for this.

Keep the 22nd. Repeal the 16th.

If we repeal the 22nd amendment Obama will have to run against Bill Clinton in 2012.

It would take 2/3rds of the Congress to propose such an Amendment so that is not going to happen. It would also take 2/3rds of the states to vote in favor of it, and that is not going to happen either. This idea is dead on arrival.
