When one thinks of turning over the nations health care, currently 13% of the United States economy, to the Feds, one must examine the track record of the other failed socialist programs that this country has experimented with. Take the failing ponzi scheme of Social Security for example.

America has had many failures with socialistic experiments besides Medicare and Social Security which threaten to bankrupt us as fast as Obama can read the teleprompter.
Look to "public education" for a real model of government management. The more money you "invest" in education, the worse the test results and the more ignorant the products! Do you really believe it will be better with federal (socialist) health?

Socialism does not work. It is that simple, and yet the MSM points to Social Security and Medicare as successes. They are dismal failures. They are bankrupt and inefficient. Fraud and waste are rampant.
The Orwellian government and press have conditioned people to believe in entitlements. People are entitled to government care. The government is suppose to pay them for doing nothing and provide for all their needs. They are entitled to it, and the government is the enabler and the source. We have made government god.

Agreed. Medicare is in even more desperate shape than Social Security.
Regardless of who was elected, very painful decisions had to be made regarding these two programs and the boomers. What is so disturbing is that it looks as though, instead of trying to shore up and dig us out of these programs, they are just creating more....as if to purposfully destroy us finacially. We will be in a situation where oppressive taxes and socialism is the only option.
And America sits here silently.....

Not to worry. Daschle, Obama, Hillary! (DOH!) kare with its rationing is the solution for the Social Security funding problem.

There’s no way to really stop this train to “third world socialism” for the entire U.S. The November ‘08 elections were where non-leftists really needed to successfully turn things around politically, but that didn’t happen. Leftist politics dominate the U.S., and leftists are not staying still, so leftists can successfully make themselves even stronger for the foreseeable future. The U.S. is really screwed for a very long time, if not forever.

I'm stuck in a conundrum here...I am embarrassed to say it, but I am on SS Disability 'cuz I am legally blind & also have epilepsy. What am I to do? I support ending SS completely...but living off of SS ain't easy!

Very well put. The far left worships big government.
