What Philosophy Does Obama Ascribe to? I see him as Machiavellian.
By Laurie Pruser-Stockman
The basic principles of Machiavellian theory are: 1. People are basically dishonest. 2. Most people think about their finances first and then in terms of right and wrong. 3. To get support and power, tell the people what they want to hear. 4. Being kind and honest are not the ways to earn respect.

Islamic Marxist Etatism.
Who is this woman? She knows nothing about Machiavelli. The man was not about dishonesty or even selfishness. He was a student of human nature. As such he advised the rulers of his time to find the thing a person wants and use that as a lever to advance one’s own goals. This is called enlightened self interest—not selfishness.
Deviousness and Machianvellian have become sononomous (sp? I’m having a senior moment). But, he was really anything but devious. Everyone should read his book. It’s not very long and says all there is to say about human nature. All the psychiatry that has come and gone over the years has added nothing to his observations.
What is the difference between Barry's actions (take over of the auto industry, giving unions equity in corporations, firing corporate executives, capping salaries of corporate officers, funding of activist groups from federal coffers, etc) and a President that would have announced, right after being sworn in, that "we will be converting the US to a Marxist banana republic over the next 100 days"?
Just askin'....
Bill Ayers 1974 book: ‘Praire Fire’
“We need a revolutionary communist party in order to lead the struggle, give coherence and direction to the fight, seize power and build a new society.”
“Our intention is to disrupt the empire, to incapacitate it, to put pressure on the cracks, to make it hard to carry out its bloody functioning against the people of the world, to join the world struggle, to attack from the inside.”
“Our job is to tap the discontent seething in many sectors of the population, to find allies everywhere people are hungry, to mobilize poor and working people against imperialism.”
“Revolution is a fight by the people for power. It is changing of power in which existing social and economic relationships are turned upside down. It is a fight for who runs things, in particular, for control by the people of what we communists call the means of production”
“Our final goal is the destruction of imperialism, the seizure of power, and the creation of socialism. Our strategy for this stage of the struggle is to organize the oppressed people of the imperial nation itself to join the colonies in the attack on imperialism. This process of attacking and weakening imperialism invloves the defeat of all kinds of national chauvinism and arogance; this is a precondition to our fight for socialism.”
