And the Award for the Most Whipped Man in American Politics Goes To . . . (BARF ALERT)
Debbie Schlussel ^ | 5-29-2009 | Debbie Schlussel

Postponing his own lucrative summer work on the North Slope oil fields, Todd does the bulk of the childcare for now, while Bristol also hits the gym and tanning. "My dad lets me go tanning quite a bit."

Trying to be charitable to Todd, then, is this really the family you want selling limited government?

The Palin's, like all families have their own issues.

And what exactly does this family's issues have to do with your question? Is Bristol on food stamps or something? Are the Palin's taking government cheese to feed this kid?

Why the hell would they want anything to do with Levi? He dumped her and ran to the tabloids. They would be wise to let him go live out his days in a trailer park far from her. ‘Making them marry’ is akin to forcing an abused wife to stay with her husband and ‘just put some ice on it’.

I know. I was once a Sarah fan, but we have to be a party of ideas and values, not “People” magazine. The mad-dog loyalty some “conservatives” have to this family is an indicator of our problems as a movement. We can’t argue for limited government if we don’t govern ourselves.

Perhaps if the Palins had tanned Bristol’s hide more when she was a toddler and small girl, the young lady would be able to tan her own hide today without the use of Dad as a babysitter.

A farmer18 nut..thats what kind of nut makes this kind stupid statement. He is fighting a major war against the Palins on FR and will even quote scripture ad nauseum to back up his goofy view. I ignore him as much as possible.

At least she is not on the public dole...and the family is helping her raise that child..not the govt.

Have you got evidence that this is UNTRUE?

Give the story some time, say about a week, and we'll find out the back story and all the nonsense that went on with the People magazine interview. Then you will realize that People magazine is nothing more than a tabloid aimed at the Oprah worshiping crowd.

Schlussel is a failed politician, unmarried, childless, no wonder she is so bitter about Palin. Palin has everything poor dumb Debbie ever wanted. I saw this piece of tripe in Google Alerts, and didn’t bother reading it then, or now.

Levi ran to the tabloids? His only problem is he didn't have a PR agent as accomplished as Bristol's.

The issue, of course, is how credibly we can sell limited government when our marquis party “family account” looks like a poster child for expanded federal family services.

When Bristol starts getting WIC and food stamps, get back to me. Otherwise, shove your Palin-bashing where the sun don't shine (and I ain't talking about Barrow in winter).

Boy, I just CAN’T get enough Bristol Palin news.

I want to know the name of the gym she attends, and more importantly what she is wearing. When does she go? Does she bring tap water or bottled water? And does she drive to the gym????

And its important that someone has connected the fact that Todd Palin is sacraficing a $100,000/year job to cover Bristol Palin’s tanning habit...even though a $5/hour babysitter for two hours/day would probably cover the situation. And that’s exactly why Todd Palin is staying home...so Bristol Palin can tan. Yes, I’m glad we have all-knowing reporters on-the-scene!

Thank you Debbie Schlussel for keeping America informed about this highly important topic.

Isn't Todd handling the parenting of Trig while Sarah governs Alaska? Adding Trig's newest Uncle to the mix is no big deal and probably will help with Trig's development. I seriously doubt that Todd is doing this under duress. It's an opportunity that not to many dads have the luxury of doing. And I'm seriously questioning the wisdom of challenging Todd's manhood.

Say what you want about Debbie's rhetoric, but don't kill the messenger. Schlussel has faced life threats exposing domestic Muslim terrorists. She's paid the price--and she's merely pointing out what Anne Coulter did in her last book--we can't be a nation of single mommies. Sarah, if she wants to be a national leader, ought to distance herself from her own daughter--the way Franklin did with his own son.

Try to absorb this, conservatives: IDEAS are more important than BLOOD LOYALTY. "I come not to bring peace but a sword."

Oh Please....She’s quoting People Magazine...a rag..almost tabloid magazine.

Could it be that Todd Palin likes his grandkid?? Makes excuses to stay home and watch the grandkid while she “Gets” to go tan?? Perhaps he enjoys being a granddad....

Todd knows what it means to be a dad unlike the no account levi, who doesn’t step up and do his part to support or care for his own child. Doesn’t he even want to know and care for his own child?? SAD situation......

IDIOCY.

Tanning is practically a necessity when you live in Alaska, both for the necessary vitamin D, and also an attitude adjustment; lack of sunlight makes you depressed.

Do people here not realize that they live in “the land of the Midnight Sun”?

I repeat....abject idiocy.

Sarah, if she wants to be a national leader, ought to distance herself from her own daughter...

Which is exactly why we have single moms on the public dole versus families taking care of each other.. I thought you where just misguided, but now it is obvious you are sick.

If “ifs” and “buts” were candy and nuts .......

What if they had tanned her hide more often (or the exact, perfect amount), and she still got knocked up? You see, Adam and Eve ate this forbidden fruit, and we’ve been having trouble ever since, despite our best efforts.
