This is awesome only because Rachel got it so wrong and The One got it so right. From Rachel's point-of-view, when we capture someone on the battlefield our soldiers should 1) call "time out", 2) string yellow police tape around the battlefield, and 3) gather evidence to be used in a court trial. In court, if our soldiers did not do 1, 2, and 3, then the perp goes free. This is what Rachel wants.

She is right to point out the hypocrisy in his speech but she is living in a distorted reality on the issues.
Agreed but it IS important that she referenced the movie "Minority Report" about arresting people for what they might do someday ...holding them indefinitely and how wrong that is and even more importantly that he is going to construct a "legal regime" out of thin air that allows him to do that! This transcends anything the Bush administration was doing and it is good that a Obama Kool-Ade drinker like her can see how ludicrous that is.
I don't remember O saying "battlefield.....nor soldiers. My assumption is he plans to use this new "regime" of law to detail anyone that "might" be a threat in the future...but has not committed a crime.

Ms. Maddow has confused the concept of a criminal and a prisoner of war. Her little movie clip deals with the criminal concept, while the Gitmo detainees are prisoners of war.
The entire reason for holding any POWs is to keep them from what they might do IN THE FUTURE against our soldiers and citizens.
The left is going to be schooled about these nuances by their beloved savior, and they are not going to like it one bit.
