This is actually true. There are three legs of the conservative stool: foreign policy, social issues, and economic issues. Foreign policy is over. Bushs anti-terrorism will be practiced by future administrations. Social issues are over. When given a chance to vote, people vote against gay marriage and all. More and more people are not for abortion. Much of this is due to the increase of hispanics which do not agree at all with the New England attitude for social issues. Economic issues is where the debate is. However, this is a temporary one. Social Security and Medicare *will* crash. California state is already crashing. Government will not be seen as the answer. Young people know that starting your own business online is a good idea. There is intense interest among the young about financial education. Why? Because they never received it in school. For more evidence, note how Democrats keep looking backwards, never forward. Obama wants to be FDR, not Obama. Stale Industrial Age rhetoric is overflowing. This rhetoric is on its last legs. We are in the Silicon Age, not the Industrial Age. The Blue states are in decline. The red states, especially the south, are booming. The ideology holed up in New England dies. Federalist Party, died. Whigs, died. Free Soil, Free Men, died. McKinley coalition, died. Rockefeller Republicans, died. Liberals being up there is not a good sign for them. One political party believes in abortion and mass contraception. The other does not believe in abortion and is more favorable to having children. The demographics will not go the liberals way. Even hispanics, who might only disagree with the economic leg of the conservative stool, live and act more like conservatives. Hispanics overwhelmingly supported Bush when he ran for Texas governor. They also vote against gay marriage. The future is, indeed, quite bright.I'd like to thank you for stating that interesting and very original perspective.
