No.
There would be four states. Feinstein and Boxer would still be from SF and Marin. The new southern states and the new northern state would have conservative senators.

Boxer moved to Jack London Square in Oakland nearer to her husband’s law practice.

I think it would be more like 6D-2R or 5D-3R. Clearly the SF Bay-based state would be 2D, but L.A.-based would be 2D as well (probably 2 La Raza Moonbats), San Diego-based would be marginal (probably one of each, a liberal rodent and probably a RINO), and Inland Empire/Central Valley would probably have 2 Republicans, but from the flood of liberals leaving L.A. and the SF Bay area, within 20 years, perhaps less, it could be outnumbered, and hence all 8 could be Democrats.

It’s really a great idea to break up California any way you look at it.

It has more people than Canada or Iraq (it would be the 35th largest country), it’s too big and ungovernable. And the leftist stronghold areas hold millions of normal people hostage.

I like the 5 state plan.

If you were gonna split it in 2, separating the coast (maybe expect for the OC and San Diego) from the interior as Bill Maze suggests would be the best for Republicans politically. In a north-south division the southern state with LA would lean rat but not as much as the entire state does now.

California may be headed for third world status in the not too distant future unfortunately.

That could bring breaking it up into serious consideration. Democrats are likely to strongly oppose.
