Anti Gun Groups Lose Again- Can't Understand How It Happened

Gun control groups have blasted the new law allowing loaded firearms into national parks...

Brady's Paul Helmke..., said, “The U.S. House vote..moves us one step closer to reversing the safety-oriented gun responsibility rule... “This vote ignored the concerns of law enforcement officials responsible for safety in our national parks as well as the vast majority of park users who submitted comments in opposition to changing these rules."

The National Parks Conservation Association headlined their press release by saying, "National Park Rangers and Park Advocates Outraged by Votes Allowing Loaded Guns in National Parks..."

"“We are disappointed in the members of the House and Senate who allowed this amendment to pass, as well as in President Obama. By not taking a stand to prevent this change, they have sacrificed public safety and national park resources..."

Bill Wade, the Chairman of the Executive Council at the Coalition of National Park Service Retirees, had this to say, “Passage of this legislation that would allow firearms of all kinds in national parks is an absolute travesty...

Scot McElveen, the President of the Association of National Park Rangers said,

“...we believe this is a fundamental reversal from what preceding Congresses created the National Park System for. Park wildlife...will face increased threats by visitors with firearms who engage in impulse or opportunistic shooting.”

This is ignoring the fact that anyone could surreptitiously bring a gun into a park and do the same thing, ignoring game law already in place.

As usual, the goal of the anti gun faction is more control over Americans, and not our safety. If the goal were really safety, they would not be so quick to disarm those who would protect themselves and their families from thugs and other dangers with firearms.

When are the anti-gun park rangers going to turn in their service weapons?

What’s wrong, they don’t want to face the grizzlies and Mexican drug dealers without protection?

A gun free park is a REALLY good place to get mugged or raped.

wildlife...will face increased threats by visitors with firearms who engage in impulse or opportunistic shooting.”

And those people will be prosecuted. Those with illegal intentions would have had no problem breaking the law to bring guns into the parks either.
