Here is a point lost on the soak-the-rich liberals. Did you ever wonder why the states with the highest taxes always seem to have the biggest deficits that have to be "closed" with new, higher taxes? Of course, high spending, which must never be cut, is one reason. But the other is that when all of your producers have moved out and taken their jobs and tax base with them, all you have left is unemployed workers and government programs supporting them, but nobody to pay for it.

OK.....everybody pony up ten bucks and let’s get this FReepathon over....
Thanks.
And if Texas succeeds... the United States government is in a heap of hurtin'...
The problem with socialism is that you eventually,
run out of other peoples money. - Margaret Thatcher
Seems to me the solution is pretty obvious. But they don't want to lose that income (that they will lose anyhow as their states takes it from them)
Moses would be proud.
My neighbor in Los Angeles is moving to Kansas next month to get the hell out of CA. I’m happy she’s coming but, unfortunately, she’s a big lib.
I’d like to see a correlated list showing the relative welfare benefit levels, and the rate of expansion of those programs. I’d be willing to bet the same high-tax states that are losing taxpayers are gaining welfare recipients.
Talk about your “two Americas”...
Proudly moved from Taxachusetts for Carolina in 98!
“Unfortunately, many of these 1,100 People are liberals and democrats fleeing their own mess but ready and willingly to turn their new homes into the same socialist mess they just left...”
Tell me about it. I had to move out of my home state after watching Yankees turn it into an asphalt jungle. I see beautiful Phoenix made over into hell by Californian rejects. A Texas paradise slowly becomes a dumping ground for the worst of the Midwest. Everywhere you go, there they are, bitching about how no one makes a good tofu sub. And they take over government and grow it until it strangles out any incentive for hard work and good upbringing.
All I can say is, unless I find Galt’s Gulch pretty damn soon, I’m buyin’ me a big boat.
Well if you get the boat, you could go more for the Ragnar approach than the Galt...
Any day now, the NY legislature will pass a bill that prohibits people from leaving.
