Obama's ATF&E thugs on the offensive
The Patriot Room ^ | May 18, 2009 | Clyde Middleton

Absolutely remarkable. A 51 year-old man lives with his father in a trailer. Thirty-four years ago - as a minor - the man was arrested with a friend that had forged a check. That made him a "former felon." His father collects guns. The dozen or so guns are secured in a safe. With search warrant in hand, "15 officers from the U.S. bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local police" surround the trailer, use a battering ram on an unlocked door, throw people to the floor, point guns at their heads, handcuff them, and proceed to trash the place.

The compelling reason is to make public the blatantly unConstitutional actions of these gov’t agents.

15 officers from the U.S. bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local police" surround the trailer, use a battering ram on an unlocked door, throw people to the floor, point guns at their heads, handcuff them, and proceed to trash the place. The local police were fully aware of the gun collection. No attempt was made to simply knock or inquire about entry.Did they arrest anyone? No. Did they take all the guns? No - they left behind the one gun that wasn't a collectors item - a hand gun with a clip. Afterward: "At the end of it when they didn't find nothing, they were real nice," Gilman Boynton said.

This reminds me of a cop show I watched once where they spent the first 20 minutes of the show reviewing tactical on a house with suspected armed drug dealers on a tip from a CI. High pressure raid, could be gun battles, will everyone make it home that night sort of vignettes with individual officers ... heartwarming, really.

Then they gear up to hit the house. Full on black ninja suits, balaclavas, M4s, and an APC. Shock and awe entry where they attach chains to the bars in the windows and door and snatch the whole front of the house off with the APC, rush in screaming bloody murder ... and it's 2 stoners on the couch hitting a bong with bag of weed. Less than an OZ of pot, no guns, and neither of the "perps" were felons. But hey, it could have been a really dangerous situation so they have to go in prepared for anything ...

The sad part of all of this is that there really is an "us and them" dynamic now with police and the communities they "serve", even at local levels. Combine the "us and them" dynamic with full-on battle geared tactical teams justifying a huge budget for training and equipment, and it is ugly what happens next.

“Obama, You’re running the wrong war, son.”

He best take that to heart.

The daughter of a friend works with them. If there was a compelling reason for them to make the letters public, they might do so.

Compelling reason screams here.

First making the letters public would protect these people to a degree as it would shine the light on these shenanigans and not allow the thugs to operate clandestinely. They'll know they are being watched.

Second, I'm guessing if these doctors are buying enough ammo to get the attention of the BATF, they are second ammendment supporters. This would work to our and their advantage.

It seems you should be able to get at least on of the three to get this out there.

If you need assistance, I'm willing to photoshop any identifying info out of the documents and post them on a server where they'll be able to be accessed on the webs.

A couple of weeks ago, two BATFE agents showed up at a residential home. They were making demands to see the two (2) pistols the homeowner had purchased, from a FFL dealer.....

The owner refused to cooperate without a warrant.

No updates.

Tell the man to get his affairs in order, I.E. a will. Make sure that within the next 3.5 years that his wife doesn't get pregnant, and he has no dogs or cats on the property.

Please explain to me the mechanism whereby the ATF knows how much ammo you have bought.

They use information about credit-card purchases, whether in person or over the Web. Apparently, the “Patriot Act” gives them a long leash to perform surveillance on the law-abiding.

I highly doubt it. But if so where are all the “if you have nothing to hide” FReepers now?

I think if I were him, I’d be studying ways to thwart a “dynamic entry.”

One of the main issues with the fact that these 3 were doctors, tells me that (apparently) doctors are being targeted by the ATF for some reason.

If this is for real, the word MUST be spread about this, and quickly — so it can be brought up in public discourse. ATF needs to answer for this!

CCWs can and will be revoked at the Federal level atthe drop of a hat.

Which ‘strike of the match’ will that be?

That distant thunder you hear is war. War is coming.

The bozos had better change the 2nd using the mechanisms for changing any Amendment.

That's all I gotta say.

My ccw arrived on 4/25/09 after I mailed in paperwork on 12/09/08.

I just received my "Curios and Relics" FFL, one month to the day (no snide remarks about "Relics" please!) along with a nice polite letter outlining some operational rules.

In other news, I'm at 90 days and waiting for a "Form 4" class III item purchase. I've been told by those who would know that typical times for an C&R FFL is around 30 days while a class III purchase can run from 90 to 180 days. Sigh, I'll just have to sit it out.

Regards,
GtG

PS No sign so far of any intrusive JBTs digging into my "sordid" past!

Please explain to me the mechanism whereby the ATF knows how much ammo you have bought.

In their case, I'm not certain unless they purchased it online or used a credit card, maybe? At the last gun show here in Phoenix, my husband was required to show his driver's license to purchase ammo. He paid with a cc, but he noticed that those paying with cash STILL had to show ID.

I put a phone call in to our state Senator because if a law had been passed requiring that, we sure didn't hear about it. I received a call from his office asking for more details, but I haven't been able to give them a call back.

Third box? The judicial box? Or the legislative box?

I’m young but not that naive. We’re red-lined now. This is quite literally turning into do-or-die, on a national level.
