Here's a thought. Let's look at this question strictly from political calculus. Do you think Republicans would rather that Speaker Pelosi be removed or keep her job, weakened and with little or no credibility left. I personally would pick the latter, at least as far as political advantage goes. That is at the heart of the political civil war going on the Democratic party. About three weeks ago, I wrote about the political civil war going on in both parties.
At the heart of the political civil in the Democratic party is the issue of what to do about potential prosecution of former Bush officials over so called torture techniques like waterboarding. From the beginning, the party didn't know what to do. It's most partisan faction wanted show trials through the "truth commission". The most moderate factions wanted to simply move on, while the president still hasn't figured out what he wanted.

Since there's a real risk of Obama and Biden being taken out instantaneously while attempting to defuse one of 15 Iranian bombs accidentally delivered to the White House, I don't think we should chance it.
Best to get rid of her.

If she stays in, it is just one more Democrat with one more scandal - i.e., normal. It becomes a non-issue when the attention span fades.
This may be the only chance to kick Pelosi out.
I don’t think that this is temporary. She has lost all credibility and that isn’t something that comes back. As for her behavior, well, it isn’t up to us whether or not she is punished.
not one more Dem but the Speaker of the House, third in line to the Presidency. It isn’t one more scandal but a scandal in which she has accused the CIA of lying. This isn’t going away and it isn’t some small deal.
She stays and its a long term gain for republicans in 2010.Come on you guys, you just know she is really starting to crack up.This would be fun to watch so I say lets keep her.
Civil war? Hell, I’m just revoking the sanction as it were. A lefty wants to run as a Republican? Fine, but I’m not going to vote for him. Why should I? So he can laugh at another conservative rube who has nowhere else to go? I think not. If we’re to suffer Democrat policies we might as well suffer them at the hands of Democrats. Then the electorate will at least know who did it to them.
Unless you live in Fl. you can’t vote for him. The article was more pointing out that some have decided to punish the NRSC for supporting this “lefty”.
I will have to agree. We get rid of her now, we will have Hoyer as an adversary, and he’s no push over. It’s better to use this walking Botox commercial as perfect example of govt failure in next year’s elections.
Definitely having her 3rd in line of succession makes me uncomfortable.
The guy who would take over from her worries me even more - he's an Obama-ite.
Better not to have voted any of these clowns into office in the first place, but it's a bit late for that.
Agreed, not sweeping out the trash because there's "political" gain isn't the way business should be done ... on either side of the aisle.
Pelosi needs to pay the piper.
There is no such thing as the "democratic" party. It's a misnomer. I never call them that. To me they're just democrats, socialist/communist weasels.
I say get her out as soon as possible. One less dem to deal with, then we can hope the others trip themselves up like she did!
The powers that be went to Stenny and told him "Hey, brother, we are going to run a black man to represent PG county and we'll beat you in the primary if we need to".
Now Stenny is not totally stupid ~ pretty thuggish, but not totally stupid ~ so he said "Give me a minute and I'll move and then the Democrats there will elect me", so he moved and the Democrats in a new district elected him.
A real man would have stood up against the black guys in PG county, but he didn't.
Stenney does not stand up to threats very well.
