Gingrich lays it out the way I thought about it, and I wished there were some real journalists at that press conference. Someone should have said “So you’re saying your staffer screwed up, so who was that and when will you fire him/her?” or “When did you find out about all of this, and when did you notify the press?” or a dozen other questions, but it all comes down to “I am incompetent” or “I lied”.
Not a fan of the Speaker, Newt, or Greta.

Why is Newt the only one being blunt about this? Every damn Republican should be making this an issue. This is precisely what is wrong with the Republican Party.
Newt’s people are doing some fairly sophisticated targeted fund raising, based on the call I just took. I wonder if he thinks he can position himself for a Presidential run? I’m thinking that is a “Yes”.
