The Continuing Vindication of George W. Bush
Environmental Republican ^ | 5/2/09 | sswenviron

President Bush has said on more than one occasion that his legacy can't be judged now and I agree, the battles are still too clear in our memory and the animosity still too fresh to make any type of assessment. I believe he was right in the respect of his handling of the war against international terrorism. It will be noted as a turning point and a model way of dealing with terrorists that don't represent a nation-state when viewed from a different paradigm a decade out.

Here's further proof of what I'm talking about as Obama is rekindling a program he screeched against while campaigning

Some libs will flip out but most will rationalize this because he's The One.

REMEMBER:

59% of U.S. voters agreed with Ronald Reagan that “government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.”

Yeah I guessed that last bit before I read it. If they decide to revive enhanced interrogation, they’ll do it with Kool Aid—who wouldn’t want another cup of Kool Aid?

Unfortunately, that was the circa 1984 U.S. voter.

25 years brings about a lot of change.

I just watched "W" on pay per view. You know...I thought the movie was pretty good. I think if you like "W" (and I do) that you'll like the movie. I'm sure for those who hate "W" they'll like it for a different reason.

I like W but I wish he had done a few things different in the war.

Unfortunately when we get attacked again before Obama finishes his first term, the libs will blame that on W too.

I admire W and what he did after 911. I don’t want to watch the movie because I fear it will make him look like an idiot and not accurately portray the events as I remember them. Standing on that rubble was historic...

It didn’t make him look like an idiot. Not at all.

Eight Wasted Years
...Margaret Thatcher used to talk about the “ratchet effect.” When the Left gets power, she said, they drive everything Left; when the Right gets power, they slow the Leftward drive, perhaps even halt it for a spell; but nothing ever gets moved to the Right. U.S. politics in the 21st century so far bears out this dismal analysis. What does the Right have to show for eight years of a Republican presidency? I supported George W. Bush in 2000 because I thought he had a conservative bone in his body somewhere. I supported him in 2004 because I thought him the lesser of two evils. At this point, I wouldn’t let the fool park his car in my driveway. Bruce Bartlett was right, every damn word...
Bill Gertz interview on Hannity and Colmes
Gertz: Well he casts himself as a compassionate conservative and I argue that he's neither. That his administration is neither. He's done tremendous damage to the conservative movement...

I'm reading The Failure Factory now and compiling my personal enemies list. Gertz really lays it out.
