On Monday, April 27, 2009, a VC-25, a military version of a Boeing 747 and one of the planes which serves as Air Force One, as well as two F-16 fighter jets, flew low over the New York harbor, passing by the Statue of Liberty and the financial district near the World Trade Center. Obama appears to be claiming that he did not give the order for this flight and is acting as if he found out about this incident right along with the rest of us. REALLY?
You would think that before this flight was initiated, there would have been effective communication from the top down as well as an accounting of the cost to taxpayers prior to getting the authorization from the president.
Obama said:
“Ah, it was a mistake, as was stated, ah it was something ah we found out about, ah along with all of you, and ah, it will not happen again.”
“Gibbs said the flyover was “two training missions that became, in the end, a picture mission” and only Air Force personnel were aboard. Obama and his senior staff weren’t informed about it in advance, he said.”
REALLY, OBAMA WASN’T INFORMED IN ADVANCE? DO THEY THINK WE BELIEVE THIS MALARKEY? AND, WHAT WAS REALLY THE POINT OF THIS MISSION ANYWAY? SPENDING OVER $300K OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS IN RECESSIONARY TIMES FOR WHAT GAIN?

Michelle Malkin has filed a FOIA request with SecDef for the flight manifests and communications that would shed light on the origin of the “mission,” along with copies of any and all photos taken. Let’s see how forthcoming this adminstration is about such a request.

To the times and events of Bush’s use of AF1. Included will be the total costs, people on board who may not have executive branch responsibilities. And, if that doesn’t stick, show a poll stating the majority of Americans approve of BO’s performance.
