From: Recombinomics Commentary 16:53 March 24, 2009 Excerpt:
"Reports from Taiwan also indicated that vaccines failed in 70% of the H1N1 cases and Tamiflu resistant H1N1 dominated in collections after December, 2008.

Article continues: "Deb Brandt, a physician assistant at Rapid City Medical Center's Urgent Care, said that on Wednesday, the clinic checked in 106 people in 11 hours. There were cases of strep, mono and plenty of influenza. Three other Rapid City clinics report a similarly busy schedule.
"Brandt said about half of her patients who tested positive for influenza had their shots, but "most of the flu shots were early."
"The above comments suggest that 50% of the flu patients in the Rapid City area served by the medical center had been vaccinated this season, and the vaccine failed to prevent infection. This figure is alarming, since the vaccination rate of the population is likely much lower than 100%, so the failure rate in those receiving the vaccine would be much higher than 50%.
The article suggested that the high failure rate was due a reduction in antibody levels in vaccinated patients, but vaccines fail because the circulating virus evolves away from the vaccine strain."
And:
Although vaccine failures in H1N1 have not been discussed in weekly reports from the CDC, a disclaimer was added in 2009, noting that cross reactivity with ferret reference sera was not always predictive of vaccine protection. This disclaimer came after failures had been reported in Asia."

LOl/. . .safe bet here that Obama is deep into his 'messiah handbook' . . .
“Tilt head sideways over sink, put spout in one nostril and salt water comes out other nostril. Repeat on other side.”
True. . .and the one's so far, carrying it; are young. That said; we will have to wait and see; and hope people do not 'fearfully' swallow the whole pill here; and just keep their wits about them.
My problem (well, one of my problems) with the hysteria over this, and other diseases, is the comparing of Mexico's problem with the U.S.
What is Mexico's health care system like? How healthy are their population as compared to the U.S.?
It was the same with the "bird flu". Most of the deaths occurred among very poor, rural population with little access to regular health care who basically were living with their livestock.
I heard this morning that the teens from the NY Prep School who had the flu, all recovered. A healthy teen population, with access to U.S. health care system, gets the flu, and recovers.
I really, really wish the government and the media would quit with the hysteria whenever anything they encounter that is new and that "might possibly" be fatal. Eventually, this is going to backfire and people will fall into "the boy who cried wolf" attitude, and when something that is really dangerous comes along, no one will be listening.
I also wish they would be a little more careful throwing the word "pandemic" around.
Interesting stats and we will have to wait and see how this unfolds. Still think it important that people keep their ‘wits about them’ and not let fear itself, invite in the worst of this; but as well, no question there is always a more vulnerable population that can take a big hit on a virus gone ‘rampant’.
It’s the Mexican Swine Flu! Let’s all portray Mexico as Mexico really is “a turd world” Hell Hole and petri dish for Terrorism! Get aboard the Express FReepers.
;)
Well said.
Regarding both responses; think we are on the same page and ‘thanks’. ;^)
Did you guys see the comments from mexico via the BBC ???http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/talking_point/8018428.stm
NAPOLITANO SAYS USA SHOULD SHOULD PREPARE FOR NEW FLU OUTBREAK SOON EVEN IF THIS ONE FIZZLES OUT...
. . .and if that is not bad enough; we have as well:
CDC RECOMMENDS PLANNING FOR SCHOOL CLOSURES...
Typical, perhaps, for these people; but don't like the MO here. Typical or 'a-typical'. . ./sigh/
none of those “comments” are verified, and they also appear to contradict each other.
Hahahahahahhaha! That is great! I am going to start calling it that. i m a innur sity publik scewl teechur- my comrades turned me on to this thing. Now I can piss them off even more in the teechurz lawnj!
FWIW, I was part of a CDC conference call with school nurses. In typical fashion, I arrived late to the party.
But, I was on when a nurse from Tennessee inquired whether there were any plans in place to limit the usual influx of migrant workers who will be coming shortly to TN. I think her question flumoxed the people running the show.(Bless that nurse!)
I left my notes on my desk, so I can't state with certainty who answered the question, but he seemed a little taken aback by that one, and stammered out something.
I think that there will be audio available online. (Doubtless after they cut out many of the nurse's questions---give a nurse a job as a reporter in the White House press corps--oh, sorry, press pool)
I will post the link to the conference when I get it.
(Are we surprised) that the 'hype' thus far, is embraced and massaged by Obama/White House. Clearly, 'honest and practical' realties of reducing 'fear' are ignored in favor of a dialogue that instead, raises the CRISIS margins. And for this he will earn MSM kudos/gag/sigh.
We can hear, as well, the low 'background' hum. . .emanating from the 'Obama White House', as 'his Government' prepares to expand to 'meet our needs'.
So that's what that sound is! I thought it was a powerline.
Well, there's no sense wasting a "crisis".
Hummmmmmmmm.
Lol. . .meantime, have to say; am wondering how the conclusion was derived seemingly so quickly that this special virus combo. . .was NOT bio-manufactured. Obama not only makes the 'best' of a crisis, of course. We also know he is invested in 'making' the best crisis. . .all to facillitate an agenda not built on a 'rock'; but one that simply 'rocks'. . .catastrophically.
Am so jaded at this point; imagining the very worst of our Government per it's new 'ownership'; no longer requires my wearing a 'tin-foil' hat/sigh ;^#!
Mr MC used my tin-foil hat last summer to line the BBQ grill. I really miss that hat...
