Mark Levin radio Show (May 10, 2007) The reason Im quitting is simple. Im fed up with you people.
Im fed up because you have no understanding of whats really going on in the world. Or of whats going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too lazy to do your homework and figure it out.
Lets start local. Youve been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And thats despite record numbers of homeowners including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while were mentioning minorities, Ill point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton Administration. Ive mentioned all those things before, but it doesnt seem to have sunk in.
Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you do not understand that gas prices are high because theres increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy people are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.
I think truth is critical and rhetoric is intrinsic to the outcome of truth. The terms are not opposed.
I think of Obama, Levin, and sickolibs, Levin is much closer to the truth than the other three.
Moreover, the freeze frame approach of trashing ALL conservatives by juxtaposing internet content needs to be seen for what it is— regardless of intention— the systemic demolition of conservative activism.
It will never matter, the conservative reactionaries on the Left and Right will disassemble Palin, Bush, Jindal, Cheney, Rumsfeld in ways that were NEVER done to Reagan who could be easily disassembled in far more complete ways.
The critique of Levin is neither accurate or effective in promoting the conservative cause against Statism.
Bush smashing statism in Afghanistan, Liberia, Iraq, and the NEA does not count as a positive legacy because Ron Paul is really going to be the only honest president we are all worthy of.
I think you hit the nail on the head. All my raving about the brain washed bots and this guy summarized it better than I ever could. ‘Any means to meet the end’ are valid. There is NO truth. There is only THEM. If we have to lie about McCain, so be it. If you have to lie about Bush, so be it. Go door to door and say anything you have to. If you have to call Ron Paul crazy so be it.
“How about truth? Does that factor in somewhere or is it just all about what is not good for Obama?
How about you admit that Mark was quoting an anonymous letter, not stating his opinion?
Yes, true and I posted the link where you found it. Hardly like he read it to complain it was lies. Or are you claiming that was his point? I certainly would say I was sorry if his point was disagreeing with it like it was a letter from Schumer (Yuk). In fact I might become a fan again.
To a point, I agree with you. There is a lot of talk on the airwaves but I wonder, sometimes, whether there is any substance to some of those talkers. I have faith in the American people and pray that we can put the pieces back together in time to save this country from those who have worked so long to destroy what has been great about the USA. We need some real leadership in our battle with the REAL EXTREMISTS.
My partial transcription - August 18, 2007:
Ben Stein: "The credit crunch is way overblown, the financials are being given away they are so unbelievable cheap... the sub-prime problem is a tiny problem.... it's a buying opportunity, especially for the financials, maybe that I've never seen before in my entire life.Shiff: "This is just getting started. It's not just sub-prime... it's a problem of the entire mortage industry. It's not just people with bad credit that committed to mortgages they can't afford. It's not just people with bad credit that will see their home equity vanish. And it's not limited to mortgage credit. Americans are going to have a difficult time borrowing money to buy cars to buy furniture to buy appliances. Foreigners have been lending us money for years. They're now finding out that we can't afford to repay. This is going to be an enormous credit crunch. The party is over for the United States. We cannot live continue borrowing to live beyond our means and consuming foreign products."
Stein: "But subprime is tiny... a tiny, tiny blip. ..."
Other talking heads: (laughing at Schiff, pump! pump! pump! )
Schiff: "The worst is yet to come. The fundamentals are not sound. They're awful. ... "
Stein: (Pumping financial stocks -- especially MER)
Other talking heads: (Yay! Financials look like a great buying opportunity!)
Schiff: "The financials are toxic. ..."
Correction: Schiff PUTS Stein to shame, along with Laffer earlier.
You had no choice but to post the link. The point is that you obviously knew it wasn’t Mark’s opinion but your post compares his quote of an anonymous letter to what he says now as if he’s contadicting himself.
Dishonest post all to pimp a book. That’s pretty bad. Commenting underneath it about liars and deceivers makes it particularly offensive.
By the way - Ron Paul has been trying to remake himself into different type of politician for over 40 years. As a Texan, I know that Ron Paul is about as worthless as they come - just like T. Boone Pickens, a scam master, who never came up with anything but dry wells while selling his worthless damn stock to anyone stupid enough to buy his BS. Ron Paul is Ron Paul’s own personal dry well and not one bit better than Ross Perot, another scam artist.
I disagree. Until conservatives return to a conservative message, one of truth that focuses on what is good for America (and why), not one based solely on “better than the other guy” and of questionable logic, we won’t get anywhere.
We lose the moral high ground when we are put in a position of defending the indefensible. We look foolish and give fodder to the liberals to say “but you did it too!”
I don’t think this thread was intended as a “critique of Levin” as this discussion actually started on another thread. It is just one example of how Republican actions during the last Administration, and those that defend them (e.g. radio hosts), have put Conservatives in a difficult position moving forward.
Think about it. The context of the segment, a parody of GWB read by Levin, after GWB is out of office, telling us we are stupid because we didnt appreciate his economy. Levin's point back then when he read it was he agreed with Bush that those not happy with him in 2007 were dumb. Now that looks really bad for Mark. Levin would never read that letter today, when GWB is really out of office(when that letter was to be written). It would either make his listeners mad at GWB, or him, or both.
Levin was predicting we would all miss GWB. Not in our lifetime, or your kids. Obama's got the free GWB get out of jail free card, 10,000 times very sadly.
Rush was a little bit better but not much. Ingraham was also cheerleading but at least she is pleasing to the eyes.
So now, because of GWB and the GOP, we get BHO and his merry band of Marxists.
TY for the ping!
MSM?? I know Levin was responding to MSM defending GWB (in the parody letter) but that was just a political message. MSM reported on stuff they thought would resonate with viewers, and Levin responded with letter that we don't appreciate these good times. Not much useful information from either source is my point, or from Democrats.
But yes, Hannity and Levin and a couple of others were the worst when it came to defending Bush. In fact, they even had,”get out the vote” drives for GWB!!!!
So my question is, is GWB considered a “RINO???”
Yo Sickoflibs—For some reason even people as bright as Mark have a hard time saying anything bad about Bush. I think you and I agree this economy is a collaborative effort by the demrats, Bush and the rest of the RINOs. Heck, even “conservative” office holders said little or nothing in the years and months leading up to the lending and financial industry’s turbulance.
Personally, the way to go is to attack all politicians regardless of party affiliation. The Tea Party organizers are taking precisely that approach—they are billed as non-partisan events—and I think it will ultimately resonate. I’m attending one in NJ today. Right now it’s raining and the event is to kick off in about three hours. I hope it does not keep attendance down.
This morning I read that the “has been” Newt Gingrich is making noise about running for president. The GOP might as well run McCain again for all the difference Gingrich would make.
What finally did it for me was when they had get out the vote drives for McCain, they lost me for good (and no Palin was NOT the presidential nominee.) GWB is called a RINO but to me he is a Washington/Wall Street/establishment/Corporate Republican that believes in Washington/Corporate power, and who ran as a average guy like us.
I didn't jump on the Palin thing. I would need to see and hear more before that happens.
