The Associated press reported that President Obama gave the order to use military force to rescue the hostage. That is misleading at best. There were standing orders to take action if Captain Phillips life was in danger, but Obama did not authorize a rescue operation. This success is the result of the Navel Officer on the scene taking action within his orders. The AP should print a retraction. Here is the AP story.
WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama twice authorized the military to rescue a U.S. captain held by Somali pirates and whose life appeared to be at risk.Here is what the Wall Street Journal reported.Officials say Obama gave the OK on Friday and Saturday to rescue Capt. Richard Phillips from a lifeboat off the Somali coast. Officials say both times the Pentagon believed Phillips' life was at risk.
The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.
Vice Adm. William E. Gortney, commander of all naval forces in the Middle East, told a Pentagon news conference that the USS Bainbridge had been towing the lifeboat holding the pirates and Capt. Phillips into calmer waters when Navy Seal sharpshooters, positioned at the tail of the ship, saw the head and shoulders of the three remaining pirates, with one of them pointing an AK-47 machine gun at the head of Capt. Phillips.Obama did not order an operation, but instead was still seeking a negotiated solution. Most of the Main Stream Media will print and believe anything that makes Obama look good.Adm. Gortney said the Navy officer in charge of the operation ordered the pirates to be fired upon.
Before the incident, Adm. Gortney said U.S. officials had hoped to resolve the standoff peacefully.

The media will always protect Obama and prop him up to look good. They were instrumental in getting him elected. Having Obama fail would make them look bad. They don’t want that to happen..EVER..so they will do whatever it takes to paint Obama in a great light, no matter what the situation is

Negotiations with the Pirates being promised Prosecution if they surrender and let the Captain go free, are not very convincing Reasons for co-operation if you are a Pirate.
Meanwhile, the Pirate problem still exists, and Hostages need some Bailout Money.
Just give it a matter of time and the AP will probably be reporting something like this “President Obama, who is a Hawaiian born Christian and most definitely not a Socialist stealthily snuck up on the pirates life boat and in single-handed fashion rescued Captain Phillips displaying much of the same valor and courage he used a few weeks ago when he daringly rescued the U.S. economy......”
Didn’t CNN report yesterday that White House sources told them Barry was only tangentially
involved in the situation because of “ political implications “ ?

Phillips was taken hostage on Wednesday-Barry didn’t authorize a shoot to kill till Friday and apparently it expired,
because it had to be reauthorized on Saturday.
Both times “ after he was updated on the situation by the National Security Council.”
Good thing the pirates didn’t take action between Barry’s windows of authorization.
Too late, our unthinking and deluded fellow countrymen will think Obama is the hero and a great CIC.

This is the age of the internet cached news browsers, Tivo and other recordable devices and of course forums like FR.
The old ways of propaganda is meeting 21st century illumination of truth, a war of who can control the influence upon the public.
I have been stuck on FR for almost 5 days straight with little sleep and have seen the chain of events as far as what has happened and when, and I am sure I was not alone.
We know the truth and we know why Obama decided to hide in the closet.
And at this very moment another crisis is happening in Indochina, and Obama will again disappear. Its another Muslim country that is pulling his basic loyalty aside.
