Here is an updated video report this morning on the hostage situation that has resulted from the hijacking of an American-flagged Cargo Ship yesterday by Somali Pirates. The ship is back under the control of the American crew who fought back and retook the ship. But some of the pirates escaped into a life-boat and took the captain of the ship, Richard Phillips with them as a hostage, demanding ransom for his release. What we need are three or four Marine snipers on a Navy vessel within 500 yards of the pirates life boat. Each sniper is assigned a target and they shoot precisely at the same time. Kill the pirates closest to the hostage first and tap any remaining pirates not killed in the initial shoot next.

Correction to a previous post: Shane Murphy, Captain Joseph Murphy son was taken hostage yesterday. Only Captain Richard Phillips is still a hostage. Shane also holds a master’s license but was not sailing as captain on this trip.
