The Internet is ablaze with the news that the Americans on the highjacked freighter Maersk Alabama have overpowered a band of Somali pirates to re-take the ship. See: AOL/AP story. They have reported that one pirate is in custody, and the remainder have been defenestrated to the sea.
Now, that's the spirit!

My usage, not theirs; I thought it read better than “deportholed,” and wanted to convey the sense of being thrown from a height. Forgive the artistic license.
American heroism ain’t goin’ anywhere.
REAL Americans hearts jump for joy at this news.
LOL!!
During World War II the Merchant Marine had a higher fatality rate than any branch of the service, including the Marines. And they didn’t get any respect or GI Bill, post war.
As in: Wir warfen die Ratten aus dem Fenster.
They were thrown out a window, they were thrown overboard from an earlier account I just read.
Nightline: America Held Hostage!
Day One: Knowing the feckless appeasement of Democrats in the White House, American hostages say ‘to hell with it” and overthrow (into the sea) their captors.
There will be no Day Two.
***************************
Day 15: Americans held hostage by Somalia pirates arrive home and are arrested at dockside by Eric Holder on behalf of the International Court in The Haugue. Asked by reporters if this turnover was appropriate treatment for American citizens, Holder replied “Hell yes! It’s not like these thugs were jihadists at Guantanamo. They don’t deserve any rights after what they did to poor Somalia freedom fighters.”
If only we could kick the muslim pirate out of our ship of state.
If Darth Cheney were still running things, he might be induced to divulge important information about where his comrades are operating from, après water sports.
heartwarming story of the high seas
I still think our president should go to Somalia to sue for peace...
and - I’ve always thought - the scary part is that this practice must have been so common that the term was coined for it!
Those aren’t pirates! They are Somali Community Organizers conducting Muslim Inter-faith outreach programs.
They are victims of the last 8 years of non-regulation of the world global economic system, only seeking alternative paths to development.
We should apologize!
Walk the plank ya scurvy varmits....Arrrrrrgh!

From Latin fenestra, window. (German borrowed from Latin.) There apparently wasn’t any common Germanic word for window, since the English word “window” is borrowed from an Old Norse a compound of “wind” and “eye”
Well, I for one am shocked at the accusation that those poor lads were thrown overboard. They...uh...fell. Yeah, that’s it. Never know when the ship will take a roll and a feller will fall all the way from the engine compartment to the main deck and then roll overboard before anyone can help. It’s dangerous out there.
What has this got to do with Europeans?
As in the fameous “Defenestration of Prague” in the 16th century. But to the main point, this is a moment about which every America not only can be proud, but must be proud. Memories of Stephen Decatur and the USS Intrepid.
