Obama Goes To France To Call America 'Arrogant'
Start Thinking Right ^ | April 7, 2009 | Michael Eden

Posted on 04/07/2009 2:27:34 PM PDT by Michael Eden

The great, and thankfully not late Hal Lindsey once said around the start of the Iraq War, "We live in fascinating times. The world's greatest golfer is a black man; the world's greatest rapper is a white man; the Germans have finally found a war they don't want to fight; and France is actually calling someone else 'arrogant.'"

Ah, the French: the world's greatest connoisseurs of snobbery.

Hal Lindsey pointed out the gigantic joke that is France labeling ANYBODY as "arrogant."

But, sadly, that joke is completely lost on Barack Obama. The joke is on him - and on the nation that elected him.

He is so eager, so determined to apologize for everything America and American, that he even determined to apologize to France for American arrogance to an audience in Strasbourg, France:

At a town hall meeting before a mix of French and German citizens, President Obama said he came to Europe to "renew partnerships" and repair relations between the United States and its allies that had been damaged because of the Iraq War.The president shows a renewed willingness to cooperate with European nations.

"We must be honest with ourselves," the president said. "In recent years, we've allowed our alliance to drift."

Obama said the United States was partly to blame because "there have been times where America's shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive" toward Europe. But he said Europe had to accept responsibility and make changes too.

Well, it helped me find out that my gag reflex is still working. I suppose that has to count for something.

France is probably the worst abuser of imperialist colonial power in human history, as well as being host to the most snidely arrogant people the world has ever seen. One story of French "cut-your-nose-to-spite-your-face" arrogance and jealousy ought to suffice to show the gargantuan moral insanity of Obama's "apology":

In 1966, France (under Charles de Gaulle), declared that it was pulling out of NATO. French motives were simple: they did not want to be seen as the 2nd rate power they had become in the shadow of America. De Gaulle announced that all American troops on French soil must leave so as to eliminate any trace of US military presence.

President Lyndon Johnson, who would soon be savaged by the [liberal] American media and anti-war movement ("Hey, Hey, LBJ, How many kids did you kill today?") had his moments of honor. He also had a better grasp of history than most politicians and protesters. Remember that this was the same France and Charles de Gaulle that had been liberated largely by American troops in two costly World Wars. Many thousands of US KIA's were buried throughout France.

When Johnson's secretary of state, Dean Rusk, briefed LBJ on De Gaulle's declaration and the resulting US plan to move NATO HQ from Paris, to Brussels, Belgium, along with the withdrawal of all US troops from France, the US commander in chief had only one comment: "Ask him about the cemeteries." Rusk tried to talk LBJ out of this controversial response, but the president was insistent: "Ask him about the cemeteries, Dean!"

LBJ stood by this presidential command. Rusk later brought it directly to De Gaulle, following his brief as to how the US would honor the French demand. Did the French in fact insist upon the removal of ALL American troops from French soil - to include the thousands buried across the country who had given their lives so France could again live in freedom? In Rusk's autobiography, he records that De Gaulle, embarrassed, did not reply.

This isn't about Democrats versus Republicans; Lyndon Johnson, a Democrat, understood something of the history and honor of the United States, and its unique place in the world; Barack Obama does not.

Mark Steyn quipped that Obama has apologized more for America during his first week abroad as president than the the first 43 presidents did over 250 years combined.

During the Dennis Miller radio program, a plumber called in, and said the first thing he notices when he drives up to homes is the bumper stickers on the cars. He said he often talks politics with his customers while he's working, and he's been noticing that the glaze is off of Obama even among the people with "Obama-Biden" bumper stickers. He compared the response of liberals to a kid who opens a present, and a couple hours later part of it is broken, and it just didn't turn out to be very much of a toy. Then Dennis Miller chimed in and said, "That's because when you open the box there's an Obama doll. And when you pull the string it tells you what a crappy owner you are."

The bottom line is that Barack Hussein Obama simply does not love this country. That's why it is as easy for him to apologize to the world on behalf of America as it recently was for me to apologize to Britain on behalf of our disgrace of a president.

He’s president of a country which he doesn’t like...during a time of great crisis.

This is a nightmare if there ever was one.

It’s eye opening to read the comments after some of the articles posted on Drudge. I’d say about 98% are negative toward BO and his wife.

Yes. Obama apologizing for the “arrogance” of America on French soil was disgusting to say the least. If someone would start an online petition censureing Obama for that action and apologizing to Britain for our disgrace of a President, I’m sure there would be millions who would sign it. I would. Let Obama apologize for his own arrogance.

If America is arrogant, and America voted for Obama as its leader, that would make Obama ___________.

Bu, Bu, But, the MSM tells us that Obama has a 67% approval rating.
In that case we must be wrong.
He isn't cause out of control inflation?
Taken over the Banking and Auto Industry?
Cutting our Defense?

Nah, he's not doing anything like that. And the people just love him. Of course we may not be able to afford putting food on the table or caring for those we love, but our beloved leader will be serving $100 dollar a pound beef to his friends in the W.H.
How dare we complain that Obama says we're at fault for everything, to his friends in Europe and the Middle East?

I was actually planning to incorporate the “bow” in this article. But I came across the fact that Bush bowed to the Saudi king, too.
http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/33289_Bush_Bowed_Too

We would be right to yell, “Well, Damn them BOTH then!!!”

But there IS one thing to point out: Obama doesn’t just “bow down” DEEPLY to the Saudi king - he actually bends his knees doing so!!!

And that qualifies as not only a bow, but a CURTSY to boot!!!

I suppose if I were president of the US, I would say to the Saudi king: “Tell you what, we’ve been bowing down to you for a while; how about if you bow to us for a change?”

The Saudi king was about to put a medal hanging from a ribbon around Bush’s neck. Bush ducked his head so the king could put the ribbon around his neck. You are calling that a bow? Cheap shot!

"there have been times where America's shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive" toward Europe.

I am outraged that this pathetic Kenyan POC is going around the world having his "Dixie Twits" moment. Myself, my brother, my sister, my father, my grandfathers going back generations have all proudly served this nation. We all believed that we were serving honorably, defending liberty and freedom, and freeing tens of millions of innocent people from tyranny, slavery, fear, oppression, nazism, communism and fascism.

How dare this America-hating twit impugn the honor not only of MY family, but millions of American families who sacrificed in one way or the other?? It is for THIS reason alone that I will NEVER support any male candidate for political office who has never served in the military. Obama's "apology" is embarrassing and cheapens the sacrifices of millions of American military, current and veterans.

I can promise you that zero will be hearing from me!!
