I think there is entirely too much focus on labels and fashion in this country. Many teens are mindless slaves to whatever the fashion police dictate. That is my main beef with the Michelle obsession. I don't care if the press thinks she's attractive. I'm more concerned with the sycophants who will do anything to emulate her. Sometimes I feel like we are part of a giant social experiment to see exactly how far the Obamas can go (and style is the least of it) before enough people are willing to admit the Emperor and Empress aren't wearing clothes.

I understand what you mean, and I agree.

I like JCrew because of the quality and because they are one of only several manufacturers who offer sizes for a pewny person like me. I think I’ve probably liked JCrew before Michelle did, judging by pictures going back over the years.

I think teens basically buy from the stores in the mall — you can see they’re all pretty much dressed the same from the same few stores.
