I do not recall the word Christianity anywhere in the First Amendment, but let me check again.

Nope, still not there.

The clear intent was the free exercise of any religion. Otherwise, why were the Jews not forced out?

I suppose we should purge all those nasty Baha'i’s, Hindus, etc.

If the founding father’s had known of people like you I believe they would have been more specific. I guess they never dreamed that their understanding of the first amendment would have been so severely twisted as to render it useless against the onslaught of ACLU types bent on removing every vestige of the Judeo-Christian heritage of this great and GOD blessed nation.

We are not a nation of one specific and imposed Christian denomination. But, many of the original 13 states had an official denomination. In nearly every state constitution, it was required that a person elected to office be Christian.

You sir are wrong, as is Obama and all the other secular types who believe that we cannot be a Christian nation without being a theocracy. A nation is its people and we are a Christian people.

I am fed up with all of this revisionist history that is destroying this beloved country. You may choose not to believe, no one is forcing you. That is what a theocracatic tyranny is and you do not live in one if you are an American.

Another atheist or evolutionist with an ax to grind. Push that crap someplace else or maybe study more of the founding Fathers and the beginnings of the nation instead of liberal professors and public education.

You can argue that you don’t believe the Founders were right but you cannot without being ignorant or spreading lies argue they were not pro Christian nation...

The word, “Christian” not being in the Constitution is a lame and lazy argument.

We have freedom of religion in this country because we were founded by Christians. We have no religious establishment because of the Protestant Reformation. Different kinds of Christians came to America to escape persecution.

We are a Christian Nation, but not a theocracy. There's a big difference. There are many Christian Nations in the world, but very few theocracies. Jews and other non-Christians are free to not be Christian because this nation was founded by Christians who believed in freedom of conscience.
