It’s great to post it fully on Free Republic, since it will still be there for years and years. My original posts from back in 1999 are still here on Free Republic, too... :-)

Actually no images (from posters) are ever on Free Republic’s servers. Check all the images and you’ll always find them on some other outside server and not on Free Republic’s servers. The only images on Free Republic’s servers are the ones that come directly from the management, itself, of Free Republic. No poster can put an image on Free Republic’s servers.
SO..., that means that any images you want, you just give the URL for them and embed them in the text and then you’ll have it.. It’s that simple...

Another way to put it — is that you *do not affect* any of the bandwidth for Free Republic, no matter how many images you put in a post. It has absolutely no bearing on Free Republic’s servers.
The only effect it has is on the *readers* bandwidth — but that makes absolutely no difference there, because if you have 10 images in one place — versus — the same 10 images in another place, it’s going to take the *exact same bandwidth* for the reader — no matter which place the reader gets the images from.
Thus, it makes no difference (to the reader, if the reader is going to get the images anyway) whether they get them on a Free Republic posting — or — the reader gets those same images from another site — no difference at all...

It’s not edited out by Free Republic. Check out all the images that many other posters put on here all the time. They don’t get their images edited out. I have never had an image edited out (although I rarely post images, but I have...).
In fact, I’ve got images right now on my Free Republic home page... LOL... (but remember, those images don’t reside on Free Republic servers but on outside servers; they always are “outside”).
I suspect if something happened to your images that it’s the server where you’re images are *actually hosted* at — that has prevented them from being accessed by outside servers. In other words *your own service* (where you do have the images at) are the ones who are *preventing* people on Free Republic from seeing them... :-)
You need to place your images on a server that *allows* them to be accessed from the *outside*.
