A political paradigm, in order for it to be observed and labeled as such, must be meet the criteria in order to pass the test. It has to satisfy the central theme of a particular time (usually during a perceived crisis), but that theme has to be able to incorporate political, economic, and social beliefs along with it. Moreover, it needs approval from a clear majority of members from society, and must be able to add to those numbers over time, or sustain the clear majority over time. Needless to say, a Political Paradigm can easily be overstated and rarely occur, but a shift towards substantial change can sometimes easily be identified in the meantime. To put things in perspective, and with out getting into too many nuances, FDRs paradigm lasted, with some interruptions notably under Nixon but with no profound changes to the established model, until President Carters loss to Reagan. As a result, Reagans paradigm has lasted ever since, with a interruption from Clinton but again with no profound changes to the established model, and reconfirmed with Bushs two victories. (I believe it was either Roosevelt or Calvin Coolidge, some argue both had their own, who established a Political Paradigm before FDR. However, the Great Depression and WWII erased all of that and allowed FDRs model to go fundamentally unchallenged until Reagans win and subsequent reelection).
This leaves us with President Obamas era.

Great Depression = obama term
People caught using "paradigm", "proactive" or "synergy" should be whipped.
Heh.... I started laughing when I got to the part about what the future holds under Obama. It looks about the same as the movie “Idiocracy” which must be where Obama and the democrats looked to to set up their model for the US.
Why... we even have the garden on the WH lawn.
This dolt has nothing positive to add to the American experience whatsoever. No use trying to couch the actions if this incompetent boob in broad sweeping words asking if the Obama era will redefine this nation in a profound way.
Mack Daddy, you betcha. Perfect!

my bad typing.
Hey folks, I’m not an Obama supporter and the last thing I want is to be right. I’m a political science guy and was only discussing the possibilities of a change in our political culture. It could happen, then again he could crash and burn. You would have seen that if you continued to read.
But you are entitled to you opinion and if it doesn’t suit your taste for reading then that is fine too. That still doesn’t meant it isn’t applicable, relevant, or worth studying.
Let us then anticipate the appearance of these archetypal examples and use our collective energy to greater ends than its mere sum.
