Those are men, more mature than the individual speaking at them, not kids.
Yes, they’re men, and women. I am a lot older than they are, old enough to be their mother, and to me they’re “kids” to me in that sense. Sorry that you took offense, but when I’m gathered with some of them at my nephews, it’s a term of endearment from an “old” woman. When I hear of one of those young men or women dying for MY freedom, they’re kids in the kindest use of the word; used by a mother who grieves for their families. So, my use of the word “kid” was not one of disrespect. As for not capitalizing the “m” in Marines, well, as they say...my bad.
