I'm not much for government spending, but asking soldiers to pay with private insurance for their war injuries would be about the last thing I would do...

But...Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed...that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance...

Boy I tell you what, if you were trying to turn a country against itself you could’nt do a better job than this jackass! Of course my theory all along was that is his intent, not any kind of unity but division and chaos, much like any enemy would want.

Well, that’s an excellent point to make when asking soldiers to pay for their own health care... :-)

..I thought ths was a joke at first. From the taxpayers in this country they will take money for every “down on their luck” scumbag, grifter, whatever you want to call them...but this is how we will treat the very people that sacrifice for their country? This will never fly and it better not!

We can pay the mortgages for freeloaders and illegal aliens but we can't provide medical treatment to our wounded soldiers without them having private insurance? WTF!!!!!! And these same Marxist dumbasses want us to accept their "free healthcare" fiasco? What does this tell you?

Hey America! How's that "messiah" thing working out?

Cheapskate SOB’s. They don’t seem to have problem with paying people to sit around on their butts and collecting from the public trough.

This idea is offensive to ANY and ALL freedom loving Americans. Guess that tells us where 0bama fits in...

It’s time to take back the country.

If that is the case they should have the right to decide if they want to endanger their body parts in activities such war.

:-)...

Well, of course the whole thing gets too convoluted then...

Really, the military should do what it has always done... (i.e., the Administration should not put through that proposal...).

Eric Shunseki is a retired 4-star Army general and former Chief of Staff of the Army IIRC. He was sacked by President Bush (actually SecDef Rumsfeld) for suggesting (perhaps rightly) not enough force was being allocated to ground operations in Iraq.

Hard to believe he would even let such an idea be uttered in his presence much less be “under consideration.”

Sad if it is true.

This is the kind of thing I would expect of the bunch in D.C. now. Not only would it increase the cost of health insurance for everyone if the private companies had to pay for service connected injuries- I have to ask what kind of care is proposed for wounded soldiers that don’t have private insurance? This is such a slap in the face to those that have made a great sacrifice for this country that it is unbelievable. So much for the left’s claims that they support our military.

Not only that, it is disgusting that Congress gets “their own health insurance, big pay, perks, benefits, and “me first, you second”. They should get the same as the military because they are both doing “service for their country”. Disgusting comparison.

Why would anyone enlist and have to pay for themselves in harms way, and have to pay for years of disabilities, and healthcare. That would mean no one would enlist, and then the draft will come in. This gets more disgusting everyday. I am sure the draft will pay less and no benefits.

That would probably send the elistment rate soaring for all the services. NOT!

There isn’t enough information in the article.

Is he talking about someone getting injured in the field and then having to pay for the treatment? If it is, then why is the Veteran’s Administration quoted?

If it’s old injuries in veterans... then why the hyperbole of stating that the troops will have to pay for their own medical care?

Get us the EEI’s (who, what, when, where, why, and how), and we can talk. But this obfuscation is on par with Obama himself.
