But Jesus was a Palestinian

Now what “interest group” would be interested in brainwashing your kids into believing that Jesus was a Palestinian?

Although Jesus lived in a region known in his time as Palestine, the use of the term "Palestinian," with its modern connotations, is among the hundreds of textbook flaws cited in a recent five-year study of educational anti-Semitism detailed in the book "The Trouble with Textbooks: Distorting History and Religion."

Authors Gary Tobin and Dennis Ybarra of the Institute for Jewish and Community Research found some 500 imperfections and distortions concerning religion in 28 of the most widely used social studies and history textbooks in the United States.

One example is in the glossary of "World History: Continuity and Change." It calls the Ten Commandments "moral laws Moses claimed to have received from the Hebrew God," while the entry for the Koran contains no such qualifier in saying it is the "Holy Book of Islam containing revelations received by Muhammad from God.– Lauren Green, Fox News

So — that business about him being Messiah Son of David, circumcised the 8th day in the Temple, called “Rabbi”, saying “Before Abraham was, I AM”, a genealogy that includes all the kings of Israel since David — THAT Jesus — is all just made up?

Or are they speaking of one of the many guys in Mexico named Jesus?

Hey whatever works for the left and their wacky excuses to fit their agenda.
One example is my liberal parish priest making excuses for the gays in my church when he “supposedly” has never heard of Leviticus 20:13.

Puhleeeeeeze!! There is no such thing as “palestine” - it’s a made-up word for a group of Jordanians who got removed from Jordan by force. They have been whining and encroaching on Israel for years and years .. trying to claim they were there first .. which is a load of crock.

Good grief .. when are we going to be rid of this scorge!!

Also .. these people are used by the Arabs to try to push Israel out into the sea.

But .. with Obama now turning his back on Israel - we can expect God to remove his hand from our nation - because God told the new nation of Israel .. “I will bless those who bless you”. Since Obama has chosen to NOT bless Israel .. that’s not a good start.

Although Jesus lived in a region known in his time as Palestine ....

No, He did not.

At the time of Jesus, the region was named "Iudea" or "Iudaea". The Romans used "I" for what is now "J".

Coin struck by Vespasian to commemorate his victory over Judea in the First Jewish-Roman War (66 AD - 73 AD). IVDEA CAPTA means "Judea Captured"

After a later Jewish revolt by Bar Kokhba in 132 AD, the Emperor Hadrian changed the name of the province from Iudaea to Syria Palaestina in order to wipe the name of Judea off the map. That name, in turn, later became "Palestine".

In any case, the Arab Muslims that later conquered the region in 638 AD had absolutely nothing to do with either name.

FIRST of all try to say those people that in minds of ORTHODOX MUSLIMS..... Palestine does NOT exist....
BOTH for Turks (see above) AND for Abassid Caliphs ( see on the map: Syria)

The name "Palestine", as I noted, comes from the Roman and therefore the WESTERN Tradition.

Historically, the name "Palestine" has absolutely nothing, zero, nada, zip, to do with the Arabs or the Turks or the Muslims.

The name "Palestine", since the time of Emperor Hadrian, has been a traditional WESTERN name for the region of the Holy Land.

To claim that "Palestine" never existed because the Turks changed the Western name is like claiming "Constantinople" never
existed because the Turks changed the Western name.

Traditional names like "Britannia" or "Hispania" or "Anatolia" or "New England" or "America" will not be found
on a provincial or State map but they do exist in common Western usage.

Regardless of what the Ottoman Turks called their provinces in the region in the 19th Century, here,
in Western Civilization, in the 19th Century, we called the entire region "Palestine".

Map of Palestine: An 1826 map of the Palestine area shows district boundaries and topographical features.
Included are Galilee, Batanea, Samaria, Peraea, Judea, and other areas. At the time, the area was controlled
by the Ottoman Empire as Syria.

After the British acquired the region after the defeat of the Ottoman Turks in World War One, the Turkish name of "Syria"
to refer to the Holy Land was replaced by the British by the traditional Western name of "Palestine" as in "The British Mandate of Palestine".

The British Mandate of Palestine Ensign, 1927 - 1948: The Palestine Ensign was flown by ships registered in the British Mandate
territory during the period 1927–1948.

The currency of the region was the "Palestine Pound".

During World War Two, Jews recruited into the British forces in the British Mandate of Palestine fought in the "Palestine Regiment".
When those Jewish soldiers mailed letters back home to Jerusalem, they mailed them to "Jerusalem, Palestine".

Letter written by a soldier of the 2nd (Jewish) Battalion Palestine Regiment.
Date: December 3, 1944. British Field Post Office Cancel, December 6 with British Censor mark.

From 1927 to 1948, the inhabitants of The British Mandate of Palestine were referred too as "Jewish Palestinians" or "Christian Palestinians" or
"Arab Palestinians". Even Moshe Dayan, in the mid-1950's, used the term "Jewish Palestinians" in an article in "Foreign Affairs" magazine that I have
in my library that described the 1948 war.

You can correctly claim that the name "Palestine" did not exist at the time of Jesus.

You can correctly claim that the Arabs and the Muslims had nothing to do with the name "Palestine" as the name "Palestine" comes directly from Rome
into the Western Tradition.

However, once you deny the historical existence of "Palestine" you are denying not only the History of Western Civilization but are also
denying Jewish History as well.
